In October of 1982, the company was founded in SoHo, New York’s art district at the time. Throughout thirty-five years the company has produced seventy collections, continually striving to embody an ineffable beauty. Each season is deeply influenced and inspired by a certain magical story or character.
Morgane Le Fay is committed to craftsmanship in both its ideology and design practices. Our creative process takes place at our design studio in Chelsea and our philosophy is that fashion can be a healing force that allows the wearer to feel limitless. Our mission is to create beautiful clothing, while utilizing a local workforce and resources.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a smooth road from the beginning. Our following found us on the first day we opened.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Morgane Le Fay – what should we know?
We’re a design company and our specialization is in creating new, high quality womenswear. Our company is eco-friendly as we produce almost everything at our own New York City studio, with the exception of our cashmere knit line, which we produce in Los Angeles. We’re very proud of how our product is made, I would say it is what sets us apart.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My team and our clients have been my biggest supporters. Some team members have been with the company since the day we opened. And I’m grateful for the new ones too. All of them help the company grow and thrive.
