Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all!!!! life in general is never a smooth road… Its very bumpy… so for a artist & entertainer the road is even more bumpy… It’s a road with tornados, Hurricanes & no signs of any direction. I’m still holding on to the ride… Following your dream & trying to make it Reality is never a easy ride. Life In General is not a easy ride… That’s okay. It feels better feeling with the blood, sweat & tears… it’s your life & your choice… I want the good life & to be successful but getting that with a easy ride wouldn’t feel right to me. It feels better to earn it by working hard & survive the bumpy road… I choose to take the road less traveled by & the high road!
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I don’t know where to start ! I am very creative when I write music & make a song…. I love making feel good music for people to feel better , make people dance & simply just have fun. My goal is to save life’s with my music. Music saved my life… I want to open minds with my music. With Light ,darkness , things that are uncomfortable & things that are comfortable at the same time. Every song I make has a different story , feeling & background. I am inspired by so many different things around the world as well , different people , many cultures , pain & love ! I speak my mind & how I feel In my songs… I write about the darkness I went through, my heartbreak, falling in love , activism & things going on in this world! With many different visuals , personas sounds & I want to make people feel like they are not alone. I’m very deep with my art… Some songs are sad , some songs are happy, some songs show vulnerability , sex , lucidity , death , Unity , solidarity & religion. When I make a album I never want every song to sound the same, it’s a story & a roller coaster ride. I want to do pop , r&b , alternative , Reggaetón, reggae & hip hop… I also love collaborating with many rappers that speak there mind & give them a voice on my record. I also want to stop racism so how that works with music is collaboration with a Spanish artist or Portuguese artist that lives in a different land miles away. When it comes to sounds I love to mix it up by putting so many genres together then it becomes my own genre… My music is so many different backgrounds , themes & magic. Im a freedom fighter artist that brings people together. It’s more then just music for me. it’s also about repairing the world. I don’t want to be in a box & be one thing. I love many interments & even different languages from around the world. Lil Rheuk is not one thing.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Its the city of entertainment where you get discovered & can make it big definitely… So that is a good place to be when you are trying to make it in the music industry but Los Angeles is a very hard place to make it !!! It’s Tinseltown.. It can be a superficial place at times.. some people there will make you feel worthless & not glamorous enough. It’s hard to make it without any kind of money behind you which is sad there is talent going unnoticed because they don’t have enough money to back them. It should just be about the talent & music. Its very hard to get the good Quality they want when your a struggling artist that came from nothing! it’s all about luck. I have done this all myself & I am so thankful for the luck I was blessed with getting the opportunities I got… You have to Be very strong because Hollywood is very cutthroat… after everything I’ve been through in La La land I still managed to survive & never went cold! I encourage artists to keep going and do not take no for an answer! Take the high road, always believe in yourself & have very thick skin. We can make it!
