Today we’d like to introduce you to LaVette Cherie.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I went through a life transformation after being beat by my spouse who belted me in the face with his fist after discovering his deceit that left me with a black eye for six months and it was very traumatic for me, about a month after the pain was inflicted one day I looked in the mirror and I was horrified by what was staring at me in the mirror …………. me , LaVette Cherie ! It was like my soul was lost and I didn’t identify the person there, I could no longer look in the mirror and I knew that I had to make some major changes
I walked away from that 15 years marriage, the financial stability, and that’s when my new journey began, It was my Renaissance, the awakening of my life that led me onto my path of spirituality and creativity. I spent many hours and days alone, praying meditating and creating, I started performing my poetry live and sharing my work, I was then approached by a publisher Z publishing who recognized me as “California’s Best Emerging Poet” and another year later “Americas Best Emerging Poet” soon to follow Radio interviews. I then went on to become an author, a co-author of “Diary of a Ready Woman” with 12 other authors who shared their stories along with me, I started getting opportunities to audition for theatre roles and being casted as lead! I did several “Hollywood Fringe” projects! Everyone loved my poetry so much it was like a magnet, and soon I was in the studio working with several artist, Grammy nominated and we spent an entire year working on my album ” The Renaissance” it was so unbelievable the journey, learning about music production and publishing! I shot a few videos and released a few singles and the response was overwhelming so Oz Simon and I decided to create an entire album. Its fire and I’m addicted the release is set for March 2020.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No it was not a smooth road everyday is a fight – You’re either in a shit storm, coming out of one, or headed there I had to deal with financial loss, relocating, and once I entered the vertigo I knew that I was a true artist and it was a struggle to live a life working a 9-5 and still creating my art! I’ve lost jobs, people, family, and my home! I was alone! I only had God to lean on so I had to get out and hustle and earn morally earn money anyway I could, I am a self-financed artist looking for investors so that I can take my art to the next level I am proud of my first album and in fact never thought life would lead me on a journey filled with surprises of this kind, Grammy Nominated Oz Simon as my producer along with Bob Tucker and Loki as my engineer and features with Grammy artist Bob Tucker and Jane Getz I am so grateful and fortunate.

LaVette Cherie is an American Poet that spreads love through her poetry. I am an Entertainer, Poet, Actress, and Artist that delivers a niche sound and experience that captivates emotions deep within the soul. LaVette Cherie is a multi-talented performing artist specializing in poetry and music With an eclectic sound and style as well as a commanding presence. LaVette Cherie has created a new genre of music with the help of Oz Simon… My love for music led my unique artistry on a path of creating this new genre and my music embodies love, passion, and healing all exuded from within her soul. Its got that GROWN and SEXY vibe, music that all ages and cultures will find inspiration and love!

I believe that everything happens for a reason and my life is blessed and I’m highly favored, MY talent is a true gift from the spirit, just to think I may have missed my opportunity I am grateful God plucked me right out of a toxic life and put me down on my true calling.
