Meet Lauren Resendez of Lolo’s Lashes and Makeup in Westlake Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Resendez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I first fell in love with makeup when I was about 6 years old when I received my very first play makeup set. I tried to save that play makeup set for as long as I could because I seriously cherished it. Ever since then I have had an extreme passion for anything and everything makeup. I went to an amazing makeup school called Makeup Designory in Burbank, Ca and just fell more in love. I love making people feel beautiful and seeing that it gives them such a confidence boost. Before I start I talk to them to see what they kind of look they are looking for and I like to really exentuate there features. Just recently, I received my eyelash extension certification so that I am able to do more in the beauty industry.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The thing about the beauty industry is that it is a lot of work to really establish yourself and to make it out there. It’s definitely been hard but it is that much more rewarding in getting jobs. I would say the one struggle for me in the beginning was being patient. Patience is truly key in every aspect of this career. Even with all the struggles and obstacles I encountered, it molded me into the fearless business woman I am today and I wouldn’t trade that for the world.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lolo’s Lashes and Makeup – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business, Lolo’s Lashes and Makeup, is for all your makeup and eyelash extension needs. I specialize in beauty and special effects makeup and also eyelash extensions. I would say the one thing I am most proud of with my business is that it’s my own and am so happy with how successful I have been in an industry I love.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would say with any business; the goal is to always build up your clientele. That is definitely something I’d like to accomplish but also to meet more amazing people. I just love meeting and getting to know my clients and hearing their wonderful stories. It makes my job that much more sweeter. Making them feel beautiful is just a bonus!
