Meet Latijera Hayes of Managed Branding & Marketing Agency in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latijera Hayes.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Latijera. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since a very young age. I always had in my mind that I was going to be a businesswoman. I always had this attitude that I was going to be someone & become very successful at what I do. People Having authority over me was one of my biggest issues. It still affects me to this day! I don’t like being told what to do and how to do it! It’s not a great attitude to have. However, it’s what has been curated in me since I could remember. I love to have control over my own life and destiny. At least I could say. If I ever failed. I can’t blame someone else but myself.

I first went into business for myself at the age of 23. I was a single parent of 3 kids. I worked for the riverside superior courthouse. My directors were always watching over me and telling me what I could and can’t do. Being a person who does not like a lot of authority. It bothered me! While working. I decided to take on what I felt like I was destined to do and start my own business. Kaiyah’s Kloset. KK was named after my daughter. I provided custom and wholesale pieces for woman. I also acquired my personal shop at a swapmeet where I sold the products and online. After not feeling wanted and feeling discriminated against in the swapmeet. After a few months, I decided to use my online platform for selling my merchandise. Dealing with so many failed attempts, designers stealing money, manufacturers making garments completely wrong. I decided to close up shop after two years. However, my ambition never stopped from there. I went on to acquire more successful businesses. Such as a daycare, a confection catering business, a mini call center for established employees and now a Marketing & Branding Company.

All of my past businesses set fuel to the fire. I became experienced over time. Which allowed me to help other small businesses. Making mistakes and owning them. Can do two things? Either it can destroy you, or make you better. All my experiences have made me better and who I am today. This opportunity has given me the chance to not only run my own agency for small businesses. But, also acquire celebrity names under my belt of managing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My road to success has not been smooth. I did a lot of business without a contract. That gave room for people to not hold up their end of the bargain. Take money from me and not provide in return for services. Being a single parent of three at the time. And feeling like a failure for giving up on certain adventures was definitely a struggle of mine. I knew my kids were depending on me. And I wanted to make a better life for us all. I couldn’t be mediocre. At least that’s what my mind would tell me.

I struggled with financing, learning the ins & out of business, dealing with discrimination and a ton of other things. One thing that I can say is. I always had support from my family. They never doubted my hustle or ambition.

Please tell us about Managed Branding & Marketing Agency.
My current company is called Managed Branding & Marketing Agency. We help established and new businesses curate a marketing plan to help launch their business. We provide a road map to meet goals, social media management, website design, and photo shoots for content. All these things play a vital role in helping a company stand apart and remain professional in the digital world.

I’m most proud to see so many millennials and mid-age humans launching businesses. I love a go-getter mentality. Starting a business is easy. Running a business is hard. So when I get clients who are hands-on. And so aggressive to get their business off the ground and become a household name. It fuels my passion.

What sets my agency apart from others is that I care. Not about the money. But the human behind the brand and the passion for their business. Sometimes I can care a little too much! But that’s what makes me ME.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing, everything that went wrong. I triumphed from and it taught me valuable lessons.
