Meet Lani Hennessey of Healing Hands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lani Hennessey.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lani. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved to the South Bay nineteen years ago to attend massage school at California Healing Arts College and fell in love with massage and beach living. I spent the first five years as a massage therapist working for Chiropractors, Spas & Wellness Centers. After the birth of my oldest son in 2003 I started teaching various modalities of massage at a local college and focused on building my own private practice in Manhattan Beach. As business grew I trained and hired massage therapists selecting the cream of the crop from the massage college. Two years ago, I opened a second office in downtown Hermosa Beach which is now our main office. I have 3 Massage Therapists who are extremely talented and together we have more than 40 years’ experience and are trained in most every modality of massage. Whether a client needs relief from neck or back pain or is looking to improve their posture and athletic ability our team is adept at providing results that suit a variety of needs.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As a business owner, a mother, and a bit of a perfectionist it has been challenging at times to fit it all in and enjoy the evolution and growth of family & business. As many business owners know taking vacation or saying no to clients that you care for is hard, but having a team of therapists has eased the burden and allowed me to take more time with my family and really enjoy my work even more.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Healing Hands – what should we know?
The level of understanding our team of Massage Therapists has in anatomy and kinesiology is unmatched. A massage at Healing Hands is an education for your body and mind. My therapists include tips about avoiding postural misalignments and offer stretches & strengthening programs that allow the clients to be involved in their own health & wellness in between appointments.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Everyone in my life from my family to my clients and friends have been amazingly supportive in a variety of ways. From helping me pull off a Grand Opening under serious time constraints, to giving words of encouragement and referring clients to our business, I wouldn’t be where I am today without them, but then, I wouldn’t be who I am either.
