Meet Lanea Holesinsky of Travel Max Express

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lanea Holesinsky.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lanea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a Perpetual Teacher, Globetrotter, Travel Agent, Certified Sandals Specialist Representing The All Luxury Included Resorts In The Caribbean, With A Love For Travel Writing And Playing Sports I became a. Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist, A Personal Development Life Coach and A Full Time Tennis Coach.

When I was young, people would ask me what I wanted to do when I was older, I always replied the same, “I wanted to do everything.” And so I did just that. The day after I graduated from high school, I graduated from University Vancouver College Canada with a degree in Montessori Philosophy where I had a teaching job waiting for me the next day and continued for several years discovering that I had special skills in behavior modification. then became an administration director. As soon as I discovered I was near the top of my pay scale I decided to explore New York, I moved to upstate New York to a small town named Cheektowaga and I started working with a print modeling agency there as well as Salvatore’s Italian Garden Restaurant where I was a server for a white glove dining restaurant. In addition, worked part time at Forks Hotel, a famous magician’s hotel as a bartender for $1.93 per hour. That was an experience. I headed back home to Coto De Caza, Ca where I lived with my family and commuted to work in LA everyday to my job on Rodeo Drive at a store named David Orgell. On my lunch breaks I would model hair Edward Anthony Hair Design in Beverly Hills.

Continued modeling hair at Sebastian International. I worked mostly with My agent Joe Kolkowitz from Players Talent and was the Nike Model for Soccer as well as Tennis.

Worked with other agencies and management companies for dance and acting, stared in Teen Guidance Network, danced in several music videos as featured extras as well as my favorite Flintstones Viva Rock Vegas and had fun working with Central casting in background on all the popular shows 90210, Doogie Houser and many more. So I did absolutely love Hollywood but I couldn’t find it in me to move there so I went ahead and opened my own Montessori Home School Program/ Daycare in Orange County with much success. After a car accident in 1996, I took a break from working for a while and enrolled in Psychiatric Technician Nursing Program at Saddleback College. This was a fascinating experience. I completed all of the studies and Clinical rotations which included working directly with developmentally disabled clients at Fairview Developmental Center in Costa Mesa. Performing nursing techniques with patients at a Medical Surgical Hospital and working directly with clients State Mental Hospital such as Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk where I was acknowledged by the head of the department for successfully creating such an obstacle course as my final project at the highest risk men’s unit where there were armed guards all around while the inmates participate in my activity, followed by job offer when I complete my program. I heard my brother was drafted to the New York Yankees and with big news, I went back to work at the Models Center where my grandmother was a talent scout, my mother was a sales director and I was teaching Movement for Models getting into the Modeling and Entertainment Industry. There too I learned how to do hair, makeup and photography.

So, my grandmother scouted my “now husband” for sports commercials and modeling, my mother sent him through to me, he became my student and soon after I was hired by a company Picture mark where I traveled everywhere to take pictures for this company, the opportunity was endless, I worked with in the crowd at the Ducks Hockey games, got to go on the ice walk with the mascot and ice girls, met the host from Xtra sports radio who took my headshot and was talking about me on the radio the next day which led me to more invitations for work. Traveling as a promotional model/photographer everywhere you can think is popular event in Los Angeles which led me to take over 10,000 photos in a weekend for MyOC.com and continued working events for them there, Next, I married my best friend now husband who is from Czech Republic a Tennis Pro. Since then, I have put everything that I use to do behind me and fell in love with tennis and traveling. I became a full time Tennis Pro and my husband and I now own Turtle Rock Tennis Program which continues to have much success with more over 51 league championships, 7 Orange County championships, 9 Southern California sectional championships (and 1 State Championship in 2013)

We are contracted Tennis Pros with the City Of Irvine since 2004.

With a love for Traveling and Travel Writing, I became a Home Based Travel Agent serving all of Orange County, Los Angeles and Inland Empire. Prior to meeting my husband, I had not traveled much anywhere, since then, we have been just about everywhere. We travel often to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and every few months to different islands of the Caribbean including Antigua, Bahamas, Exumas, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Jamaica. After our first visit to the Caribbean I realized that I needed to make a plan that this where I was at was where I wanted to be. How to get there financially?

How to continue doing all the things I use to do that I loved before Tennis and have this too? So, I came up with a plan. I am going to write a book, I cannot share the name of the book as I have just completed it. My book is explaining how I went back to my old life, took each of the things that I enjoyed doing before, created a way to bring them back and money doing it so I could make a profit to get me where I want to be more often in the Caribbean. I did just that which the book explains each of those things I did then and am able to again, enjoy doing now. This is how and why I became to open Travel Max Express.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road and there were struggles along the way but without these struggles I would not be doing what I do today. My book is about these exact footprints in the sand, the footsteps to how I got there and what I did to get through the obstacles and overcome what was needed to be here today.

What an inspiring article! It just shows you that you can do almost anything in this world if you have the fortitude to take a step back once in a while, before advancing forward again!
