Meet Lanae Cooper of Glazed N’ Butter in Gardena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lanae Cooper.

Lanae, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had always grown up in a household where healthy alternatives were encouraged and provided. Once I entered college, I found myself switching to more natural skincare options, making my own cold press juices, non dairy/nut milks, and cooking plant-centered dishes. I would just post things that I made, that made me happy. Then soon, I started getting messages from peers that wanted me to juice and cook and for them, but nothing too demanding. Once the pandemic began, I had the time to experiment with more natural recipes and remedies. My whipped body butter happened to be the one that most of my friends and family inquired about. After a few people asked, “how much?” I realized that there were also people around me looking for better skincare options. I made a batch that consisted of three scents and two sizes, they sold out in a week, and that was the only sign I needed.

I always tell people that I started a business on an accident. Meaning, I started doing something that I loved, and it turned into something profitable.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Due to the pandemic, it has made it a little difficult to meet the demand for my products. With the stay at home order and delayed shipping times, it takes me a bit longer to get what I need to get orders out to those that are choosing to support me.

Please tell us about Glazed N’ Butter.
My company’s mission is to provide more natural skincare options. I currently only sell whipped body butters. Whipped body butter is an excellent alternative to lotion. It is all-natural, derived from plant oils/ butters and is free of parabens & preservatives. Natural body butters help nourish the skin with daily use and aid in the healing of many skin ailments and irritations. I believe that Glazed N’ Butter stands out because of its more affordable price point.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memories would have to be the times I spent with my dad in the kitchen. My dad was the first person to introduce me to cooking. He started off teaching me how to cook breakfast. Once he passed, my mom continued to share with me all his recipes and kitchen hacks.
