Meet Laila Marshall of Beebizy in Woodland Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laila Marshall.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Laila. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started the app over three years ago while pregnant and frustrated there wasn’t a place to equally empower entrepreneurs and consumers alike. I knew I would be a busy mom, and where would I go to plan my son’s first birthday party with reviews, upfront pricing, and a fast turnaround? It didn’t really exist. I am also an entrepreneur, so how come there wasn’t a platform to start your passion while still working a 9-5?

That didn’t exist also, so we hired a team of amazing graduate students to help me develop the app. It has been an amazing journey so far and we happened to launch during the pandemic which was not expected. But as it turns out, it’s been the best time to launch with so many freelancers looking for work. Users have been eager to still receive services such as personal trainers among many other services. It also has been a time of reflection, rediscovering passions, and finally doing something people always wanted to do but never had the time.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course not! There has been a tremendous amount of failure which has been the best thing to get us to where we are today! When I started the app, I didn’t realize the amazing amount of work it would take to actually develop the product. Detail and user friendliness was one of the most important things for me. We wanted to create the best possible product so the user would have the best experience.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Beebizy – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Beebizy is a service search engine that connects freelancers with clients. We have over 100 categories from welding lessons to massage therapists. We specialize in connecting people and creating a marketplace to help ignite people’s passion and creating a time saver for clients. You can contact a freelancer within 3-4 clicks. We do not have estimates or lead times. You see upfront pricing, photos and can hire the freelancer rather quickly. We also do not charge the freelancer to make a phone call, we only get paid when the freelancer gets paid. I am most proud of that. We want to bring communities together and help all people involved. It’s really a win-win for everyone.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We want to become the go-to for all service searching. If you search for a personal trainer, you will automatically go to Beebizy because of the quality, trust, and fun we bring to the space. We’re an amazing company with amazing people. We are excited to take this internationally.
