Meet Kyree Tyree of West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyree Tyree.

Hi Kyree , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It’s so interesting because I always thought I was going to work in the science field. That all changed once I got to college and realized that I enjoyed recording videos and making vlogs—IYKYK.

I interned at ABC during my sophomore year of college, which then changed my perspective again—this time, on working in television and film. When the pandemic hit, I started working for a celebrity, unlocking a new passion: Public Relations.

I began to learn the ins and outs of storytelling while working with brands to capture the moment. From award shows to fashion weeks, I started to build connections with brands, talent, and agencies—unlocking my knowledge in storytelling, curating brand strategies, and developing full-scale moments.

I bounced around different agencies—from fashion, to music, to hospitality—and really started to grasp all the elements needed to amplify a person’s talent, curating the perfect strategy to boost their career.

Just think: I was doing all of this while still working a 9-to-5 job.

In 2024, I got laid off, which I always say was the best thing to ever happen to me. Don’t get me wrong—I’ve been laid off numerous times working in entertainment—but something felt different this time.

I finally had a moment to realize that I didn’t need to go to another agency. I knew in my heart that I could do this all by myself, thanks to the network I had built.

I created my PR agency, KYJAHN (an ode to my first name, Kyree, and middle name, Bijahn). For the first time—this was mine. I didn’t have to tell anyone what I was doing. I didn’t have to explain why I chose the client or the strategy. I did what I wanted to do.

Ever since then, it’s been such a rewarding feeling getting to work with HUGE talent to create more storytelling moments.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A smooth road?? I WISH! Each day poses a new challenge—this is the first time I’ve ever worked for myself for this long. There are manuals you can read on how to be a good entrepreneur, but even then—until you’re in the moment, you’ll never really know.

One of the biggest struggles? Constantly being told no. There are way more no’s before you ever hear a yes. I think social media does a great job of showing the glitz and glamour, but let’s be real—working for yourself is not easy.

I’ll never forget the first time I got my first big agency check. OOOOOH I was so excited—but then I realized I had to cover all of my expenses… so I literally didn’t make any money. Reality kicked in real fast. I had to accept that I constantly need to work to get paid. This isn’t like a 9-to-5 job where you get a check every two weeks or twice a month. There are times when I genuinely don’t know when the next check is coming.

Another struggle? Definitely figuring out my niche. I remember when I first started, I was just so excited to get clients that I was all over the place. I ended up overwhelmed because I couldn’t handle the workload I gave myself—leading to the craziest burnout.

It became a cause-and-effect situation: because I didn’t know when the next check was coming, I started taking on clients just to make sure I was covered financially.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So, my “professional title” would be Publicist, but I like to call myself a Strategist from time to time.

From a PR standpoint, I specialize in creating impactful press moments across media, TV/film, and speaking engagements. I also focus on making sure you’re in the right rooms and events from a cultural perspective—think award shows, fashion weeks, and exclusive industry-related private events.

If you’re a music artist, I curate strategies that give you the most exposure leading up to your releases. If you’re an athlete, I craft strategies to help you stay culturally relevant even after your season ends. If you’re an influencer, I work with brands that align with your personal preferences, building authentic relationships so nothing feels forced.

I like to say I’m known for working with people who start off really small—and I can proudly say, they often grow a lot bigger after working with me. I have an eye for talent, and I love the challenge of showing people why my clients deserve to be in the same rooms as some of the legends. It feels amazing to watch their following grow organically over time, allowing them to build a loyal fanbase.

What sets me apart? HMMM… I’d have to say it’s my ability to adapt quickly to my clients and their specific needs. Most agencies have a particular focus—whether it’s music, fashion, TV/film, influencers, or athletes. I do it all. I love having the flexibility to adapt and work in any industry, which allows me to keep learning and growing.

I’m most proud of every single client who’s ever given me the chance to do something for them. I can’t name just one favorite moment, because I’m genuinely grateful for every opportunity I get to create something meaningful on their behalf.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
TRY SOMETHING NEW!!! This world is too big to feel like you’re stagnant in one place. Try something new—and if you don’t like it, try something else!

I use myself as an example—I went from science to TV/film to social media, and finally tapped into what I really love… PR! It took a countless amount of trial and error, but through it all, I can finally say I’m happy where I am.
