Meet Kyle Ware

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Ware.

Kyle Ware

Hi Kyle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Just like many, I was bored at home during the pandemic. I was pretty invested in my passion for dance with my troupe as well as teaching regularly, but when everything shut down, a lot of the opportunities were put on hold, and I needed to find new purpose and new outlet to kill the time. I’ve always loved clothes and going out to take pictures, but with a lot more time on my hands, I began to take some time to develop a sense of personal style as a new creative outlet. I use to post lightly on Instagram, but I felt like I was “too late” to get any recognition or opportunities out of it because I “missed” the hype. But of course, with the pandemic, this new app TikTok was everywhere, and something in my spirit wanted me to participate. I had no structure or plan, but I just knew I wanted to be on the wave because when was there a chance like this for people with no following to get a chance to be seen. I tried to mix dance, funny content, style, trends, transition videos, everything to see where I fit into this space and find my tribe. My “niche” came about by trying everything. It’s always the things you lightly think of that always ends up being the most valuable information to people. I’ve always hunted down dope spots to take pictures, but who knew people wanted to know the ins and outs of taking photos, posing, camera settings, etc.… it was something that came naturally and was exciting for me to do. Cliche as it sounds, I really had to “embrace the cringe” with no ceilings and fail lots of times to find something that I am both passionate about, and my audience loves to hear me talk about for me to be where I am today with my content journey.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
So many! I had to really expose many layers of myself to the world just to see what I was passionate about. The evolution of my account is a product of trial and error. In the beginning, I tried everything, every trend, anything to just see where my “niche” lay. I also don’t have the most aesthetic home, so I was very limited in space, time, and light so it forced me to think outside the box.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
The “niche” I fell in love with was a hybrid of both fashion/style, photography with my posing videos, and getting to teach with my “how to take your own photos” series. I love that I get to showcase my personal style, but I also love the photography aspect of it too. When I’m in front of the camera, I feel like I am on stage again. When I’m on stage, I get to play a different person, and that’s how I feel in front of the camera. I am proud at how many people I’ve inspired to go outside and take pictures. I love looking back at photos and remember a day I felt confident in my skin. To be able to have people tell me that they have learned something from me or inspired to go find their confidence really lets me know I am on to something good. There aren’t a lot of men in this space, especially black men at, so I feel like it’s my job to offer this different outlook and perspective on content creation!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m such an introvert. I know I preach confidence, but not in a million years would I think I would have this many eyes on me. I like my peace, my space, and my privacy. But a huge part of building confidence is taking risk and stepping outside of your comfort zone. That’s why it was so important for my growth as a person to do it scared because the reward has brought me more amazing opportunities than I can count!
