Meet Kyle Miller of Love Yoga in Venice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Miller.

Kyle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My yoga journey began when I was 15, practicing casually as a high schooler in LA. When I moved to New York, I began to learn about the philosophy and it blew my mind wide open. At this point, I’ve dedicated my adult life to the study and practice and sharing of yoga. I own Love Yoga with my partner Sian Gordon. We run training, retreats and mentorship programs out of our home base in the heart of Venice.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being a small business owner is not easy. We are incredibly lucky with how the community has embraced Love but we’ve made tons of mistakes and wasted time and money over and over again. We try to learn from our mistakes and know that it’s “par for the course” in navigating business in Los Angeles.

With COVID, we completely shifted our business model as we work hard to provide an online community experience for our people.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Love Yoga – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in intelligent, thoughtful, community-focused yoga. We opened up with the idea that we could stand out from the power yoga landscape in Los Angeles with our design-conscious space and our inclusive attitude. We want everyone who comes to the studio to feel welcome and to feel like the practice gives them more than just a workout.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Right now, we are totally focused on safely reopening following governor Newsom’s guidelines and maintaining the live-streaming Zoom classes we’ve implemented since lockdown. The zooms are amazing! We’re blown away by how much our global community has shown up! We’re practicing with people from all over the world and it’s definitely something we want to continue even as we reopen our doors.

Pricing:

  • Live streams $6 with many free classes every week.
  • Drop in classes $24 when we reopen.
