Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Goosby, Amber Britt, and Kayla Goosby
QWSTevents was founded in 2016, but the friendship started in August of 2011. All three founders attended and graduated from Long Beach State and participated in athletics as Track and Field athletes. Amber minored in Event Planning and Kristina and Kayla planned events for their families’ members and they all enjoyed it so much that they thought “hey, maybe we can make a career doing what we really enjoy” and decided to create QWSTevents.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? HA! Yeah right. We have faced some struggles since starting our business in 2016 and are still learning things along the way. One thing we have noticed is that many people do not take us serious because we look and are so much younger than many event planners in the area. Subliminally, people are judging us without knowing it and without looking at our work first. For example, we set up a high school dance and many of the parents and other vendors thought we went to the school. Once we told them that we in fact set up and decorated everything they were surprised but impressed with our work. We don’t have as much experience has some other Event Planning companies but a lot of this stuff just comes natural to us. All three of us have been involved in planning event since we were young and it’s something we all really love doing. If you’re reading this and either need an event planned or know someone who will be planning an event, give us a chance! We won’t let you down.

QWSTevents is an event planning based business. Our name stands for Queens Who Stick Together – our goal isn’t only to plan great events but to bring people together, especially women. We do everything from finding and securing the venue, vendors, event decor, dessert and candy tables and set up and tear down. We can really take anyone’s idea and bring it to life which is our goal, to make your event unforgettable! We think our favorite thing to do and what sets us apart is the event decor and dessert/candy tables. It really gives us the freedom to be creative and make the whole venue pop! I think one thing we are most proud of is that fact that we really started from the bottom! While we have experience planning and decorating events, none of us really had an experience running a business. This process has been difficult but we are enjoying the journey.
