Meet Kristin Wallace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Wallace.

Kristin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been a ‘funny person’ since the day I was born. Literally, I came out the womb playing dead by not crying. I just moved to Los Angeles in January in pursuit of happiness and laughter, and how to create more for others. Just a sappy way of saying I’m a comedian! While I’m from Washington, D.C., I found my funny bone in a gutter in New Orleans almost four years ago at a woman run comedy show. I’ve made a few appearances in LA since I’ve moved here, but I’m gearing up to host a special treat for the city come this fall.

Has it been a smooth road?
There is no such thing as a smooth road. I never learned how to drive but I do know that even new roads have imperfections. That is life. Consistency. Consistency is hard, will power is hard, being broke is hard. Student loans are the devil incarnate. Confidence– confidence is an energy that you have to create daily. That doesn’t mean it’s false, confidence is just a heavy object to have and hold and you gotta have a strong backbone to support it.

What else should our readers know?
I’m not afraid to dress up as a Juggalo for attention.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see comedy taking a large shift in the next couple of years. Not just with gender, but the “navigation of success” is going to change. The path to ‘top dog’ is going to be different, and a lot of people are going to be shook. Comedy is for everyone, and soon, the inside will start to look like comedy is for EVERYONE.
