Today we’d like to introduce you to Krisitin Best.
Krisitin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a little girl, I always wanted to do hair, I use to cut my Barbie dolls hair and I also wanted a body of a Barbie. As I got older I focused my life around the beauty business. I attended beauty school and continued to further my education in the beauty business… I was lucky enough to work for the some of the top stylist in the business which helped to launch my career. I have worked for many celebrities and continue to coif their hair, though in my mind all of my clients are celebrities. I then got married had children and my life dramatically changed because I was no longer on my own.
I had to find a way to make a good life for myself and my children. March 9th, 2010 my 7-year-old son was killed in a tragic accident, which motivated and inspired me even more to make sure the rest of my children where well taken care of. With that terrible experience I was able to turn it around and honor my son. I opened my Salon which names sake is my son’s Dylan Keith.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I do not believe any new business comes without struggles but it is truly how you receive and handle those moments. Dealing with “artists” (hairdressers) demands a lot of understanding and patients.
Please tell us about Dylan Keith Salon.
Dylan Keith Salon is an upscale full-service Salon, we offer all types of hair services, facials, waxing, eyelashes, micro-blading, threading etc.
My specialty is color and cuts, I am known for my hair-cuts and hair-styling for celebrity clients.
I most proud of our Team and how we provide exemplary service to our customers. We have some of the most loyal clients which we take a lot of pride in.
Again, I must reiterate that we have fantastic customer service, without our customers we have nothing.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memories as a child was spending time with my grandparents. They are amazing humans who helped mold who I am today.
