Meet Kori Zornes of Revamp Retreats in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kori Zornes.

Kori, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
If I told my younger self that one day I would be running my own yoga and wellness retreat company, and be traveling around the world changing people’s lives – I wouldn’t have believed it.

My father always had big plans for me. Plans to be a lawyer, accountant, work at a bank… something along those lines. I am sure many of you can relate. I went to a great college and followed the typical corporate route, but I knew there was something big missing.

That ache for something more is what sparked my journey to really find myself, discover my path, and ultimately launch Revamp Retreats.

I quit my corporate job and took a solo journey to Europe to study yoga and get my teaching certification. Next was Costa Rica where I attended a retreat that truly changed my life. I learned to start following my intuition and let that guide me, instead of doing what I thought I was ‘supposed’ to do.

After that adventure, I moved to LA to share my passion of health, wellness and travel. I taught yoga and holistic health, studied Shamanic Reiki and clairvoyant work, volunteered on trips abroad, and fully dove into this magical world of mind, body, and spirit healing.

All of these studies, teachings and experiences led me to launch Revamp Retreats. I ultimately wanted to give others the same transformational experience that I had – the one that changed my life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I am not sure if starting your own company is ever a smooth road, but it is exciting, fulfilling, and everything I could ask for!

I think it’s funny that in 4 years of business school, they never teach you how to actually start your own business. I remember once searching on Google- “how to start a business” and “how to file an LLC.”

There were so many struggles along the way. I can’t even remember how many times I sat on my couch in tears thinking – I don’t know what I am doing. The biggest struggle was my own fear and doubt.

What got me through those times was the knowing that I could truly impact other people’s lives and give back in a way that was much bigger than myself.

In the end, I truly felt supported by the Universe (or whatever higher source you want to call it) because I was on my path, I was contributing to the world, and my heart and intentions were fully in it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Revamp Retreats – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Revamp runs health and wellness retreats around the world. We go to Bali, Mexico, Morocco, Thailand, Costa Rica, and anywhere else our heart’s desire! Places of high vibration, organic food, authentic culture, and adventure. These retreats are truly transformational, and are made for people who seek inspiration, connection, and something deeper in life.

We work with some of the most amazing yoga teachers, meditation teachers, spiritual coaches, healers, and wellness practitioners that you could imagine. I always feel honored that they choose to collaborate with Revamp – they are that good!

I think what really sets us apart is how personal we are, and how much we really care about making an impact. I personally talk to almost everyone that comes on one of our retreats before they sign up. I get on the phone with them, help them look up flights, figure out which retreat is right for them, trip plan, let them know what to expect, and make sure they are prepared for their experience. It is so important to me that we really connect with people and create a community.

What makes me really proud is seeing how many people’s lives are impacted after our retreats. I’ve seen so many people quit jobs, move abroad, or just find their happiness in life again.

The other thing about Revamp that I am proud of, is our contributions to the countries we visit. A big mission of ours is to give back to these places that give so much to us. In Bali we work with a local animal foundation, in Costa Rica we planted trees and brought supplies to schools, and we’ve visited many villages to help out in any way possible.

Revamp is special, that’s for sure. I hope you can experience it for yourself one day.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We plan to keep doing what we are doing. To adventure, build community, change lives, spread health and wellness, and give people the opportunity to find their purpose in life, or to dive deeper into what they are already doing.

We will continue to add new locations and new teachers to our retreat line-up. If any of you have suggestions please send them my way! ☺

I also have dreams of opening up our own retreat center that also serves as an animal sanctuary- what could be better?

Revamp will also evolve in other ways; I am just not sure what they are yet. The Universe will let me know!
