Meet Kimberly Rosenberg of First Light Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Rosenberg.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kimberly. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My first passion was makeup artistry, but after more than a decade of being a Makeup Artist and Eyebrow Specialist in a salon, I found that my connection to my work was becoming foggy and I needed a way to center myself so that I could remedy the disconnect I was experiencing. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training with Eric Paskel, Founder of Electric Soul Yoga, and began to feel my personal passion for yoga shift. I was being pulled in a direction of being of service to my community in more than one way.

I have had many AH HA! moments over the last several years that have shed light on who I felt I was becoming as a person and who I wanted to become – a more authentic, grounded and connected version of myself.

A couple of years ago, I made a life-changing decision to sell and donate 90% of my belongings, leaving behind everything I ever knew, to move to a third world country to pursue my love of teaching yoga and discovering great surf. I distinctly remember one evening in particular. I was laying on my bed staring at the bright light above me in my staff house in Morocco. I was reflecting upon my life and every choice I made that led me to that exact moment. At that time, I possessed the least amount of material objects and the least amount of money in my bank account, but, I had the richest relationships with my friends, family and myself. I was surrounded by people I just met, living in a culture that was completely foreign to me and for the first time, I truly felt I was consciously living the most authentic life I could.

From that space, First Light Beauty was born.

Has it been a smooth road?
If I said any of this was smooth or easy, I’d be lying. The initial struggle was the battle of having this incredible vision and wondering how I was going to see it through. Just like I tell my yoga students, I needed to remind myself to take each day, one breath and one step at a time. With starting this new venture, I find myself wearing a number of hats, which at times, has been overwhelming. On the flip side, I have been able to draw from my creative nature and take on roles I didn’t know I would ever take on, which has become an exciting flipside to some of the hurdles along the way.

First Light Beauty is a company dedicated to facilitating experiences for individuals and groups which result in Self-discovery, growth, and connection.

We specialize in yoga sessions for individuals, athletes, schools, group homes/recovery homes, corporations, and bridal & bachelorette parties, surf lessons, yoga & surf retreats, yoga & beauty retreats, makeup artistry for weddings & special events, makeup lessons, and charity events. We are known for being raw & real and taking the stigma of exclusivity out of yoga, surfing and the beauty industry, and creating an all-inclusive vibe for you.

We are women and men utilizing yoga, surfing, the beauty industry, philosophy and volunteering as our primary tools to develop higher values, deeper connections, and have fun on this crazy journey we call life!

I am most proud of working with incredible people who have the best interest of others at heart. We can often feel alone at times, even if we have a smartphone full of contacts to reach out to, but I now know I can reach out to my team, at any time, and we have each other’s backs. It’s that strong foundation that allows us to do that for our clients and nothing brings me more joy.
