Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Mora.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started in the year 2016 before Instagram modeling became a trend. At the time I was going through a really bad break up and had a very low self-esteem. One day a good friend of mine asked me to be one of his models for a new company that he was working for at the time. I refused several times until finally, I decided to give it a try. It gave me a reason to get out of my house. The shoot consisted of a very gothic look, which fit my personality at the time. During the shoot, I had no idea what I was doing, but I diffidently had that “serious elegant look” that came naturally. After reviewing the portraits taken of me, I started to see my own beauty in a different way. I started to feel this thrilling rush of happiness after that shoot and from there I craved more of that feeling. I started practicing my poses in my room to see what worked out best for me. I would research famous models like Adriana Lima, Tyra Banks, Jean Shrimpton, etc.. and I will mimic their poses in front of a mirror. I started to develop more and more confident with myself. Soon I began my journey by casting for different companies who needed models. I will also go to these big photo shoot meets that were held in different parts of LA. Soon enough I befriended a lot of amazing photographers who were willing to partner up and take photos of me. I started posting them on my Instagram page and little by little started to make a platform for myself. I created more jobs and opportunities for myself in the social media world
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been all easy. This modeling gig diffidently takes balance in your day to day life. Making sure you schedule things at the right time is diffidently a struggle when you have castings lined up back to back. Also, rejection for a collaboration shoot gets very frustrating sometimes, but it’s all about learning how to take rejection. It’s about moving forward and finding people with a vision.
Limitless Kim – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I work as a nurse and I am a full-time college student pursuing a higher degree in nursing. I also work as a model for various companies. I specialize in motivational speaking and uplifting individuals to their best potential. I am known for my caring heart and my inspiration to inspire others by doing what I do in my modeling and nursing career. I am very proud of how far I have marketed myself in this modeling industry, and also how many people I have proven wrong. It’s great to know that I have set myself in position with no limitations of what I am cable of. I believe this sets me apart from everyone else. I am a true believer that the only limits you have are the ones you set yourself upon.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as my responsibility to be successful in all aspects in life which are physical, mental, and emotional. I have created my opportunities because I worked hard for it. I wake up early in the morning everyday and research more information about the social media world. I drive miles just to meet professional photographers to update my craft. I have never been the type to just sit around and hope I get lucky on a day to day basis. I get up and do whatever it takes to become more successful every day. Surrounding yourself with Individuals that have vision for bigger and better things is very important as well. You are what you surround yourself with.
