Meet Kimberly Lara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Lara.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kimberly. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I remember growing up and watching all these movies with my dad, the love started from there. As the years went on, I remember watching all these movies with strong female characters; I wanted to be like them. I wanted to be strong, I wanted to be them. Around the age of 15 years old, I told my mom I wanted to model and act, I did some modeling but life happens. For a while, I put that part of my life on hold because I thought I needed to perfect every other aspect of my life before considering that path again.

Of course, that didn’t happen. I got into a relationship that made question every bit of myself to the point that I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. We broke up and that’s when I finally saw myself; strong, beautiful and determined. I started taking pictures, meeting people in the industry who gave me tips, did the Modeling Experience. Slowly I started getting auditions and casting calls for both acting and modeling, I also did some background stuff for feature films. I’ve met so many beautiful human beings the last couple of months that have encouraged me to where I am now; where I will be in the future. Acting and modeling for me is art, a passion.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There has been some struggles, whether personal or just life in general. I’ve met many people throughout my life, some have been good and others not so much. I think of all these experiences as lessons that I took something from.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My first step into the industry was modeling, slowly trying to make a name for myself. It wasn’t until I met someone in the modeling industry that I got the push to finally chase one of my many dreams, I felt like I could conquer the world. Not long after that, I did runway, worked with various photographers and slowly started doing background acting. As a teenager, I wanted to be an actress, so I put myself to work. I took classes at the Pearlman acting academy in Hollywood, started auditioning for student films and plays. I tried to prepare myself in every way possible, even taking horseback riding lessons to prepare for a role that I could have possibly lost to someone else. I find myself to be unique as we all are, that’s what I love about humans. We each have our special talent and looks that sets us apart from one another.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me means, achieving what you want in the best way possible. It doesn’t mean riches or material items, it means being content with the outcome. When I do a modeling gig or an acting one, I want to deliver the best out of me in order to get something I can be proud of.
