Meet Killa J of VLNZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Killa J.

Killa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a recording artist, I always knew that creating visuals were a vital part of the process. So to keep everything in house, I picked up a camera and learned how to shoot and edit footage. After learning and upgrading equipment over time, I’m now a professional videographer and those skills have taken my music videos to the next level.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s always going to be challenges. Whether it’s coming up with the budget for a project or equipment malfunctioning. I prepare for these things so that when they happen, I can solve them without panicking.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
The momentum for my music picked up for me in college. I released multiple mixtapes that did well on streaming services and from there I just continued to grow my fanbase. Since then i’ve toured multiple times, performed in almost 30 states, and signed a distribution deal with EQ. I’m currently working on a few music projects and a movie as well so stay tuned for that!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Patience is pivotal.
