Hi Kerri, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up on a farm in a small town in South Dakota with a population of about 300 people. My high school graduating class had just 14 students. Life was simple living in a close-knit community where everyone knew each other. Dentistry wasn’t something I ever thought about growing up. In a town that small, we didn’t even have a local dentist.

I attended Creighton University for college and dental school, but I didn’t set out with dentistry in mind. During my summers, I worked as a nanny in New Jersey for a family whose uncle was an endodontist. One day, he asked me what I wanted to do with my life. When I replied attending medical school, he suggested dentistry instead. He explained the benefits—owning my own practice, setting my own hours, and having the flexibility to balance work and family. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Dentistry combined science, hands-on work, and the ability to build something of my own. That conversation changed everything.

After dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Nebraska Omaha Medical Center, then stayed in Omaha to build my first practice. Running my own office taught me the business side of dentistry, along with the clinical skills. But in 2005, I was ready for a change and made the move to California. It was a big transition from the Midwest, but one I embraced fully.

Now, as a cosmetic and implant dentist in Beverly Hills, I still carry the values I learned growing up—hard work, resilience, and the importance of building strong relationships. Dentistry has given me a career I love and the ability to help people feel confident in their smiles. Though my path to Beverly Hills wasn’t a straight line, it was exactly the journey I was meant to take.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Becoming a dentist—let alone one in Beverly Hills—was never something that seemed within reach when I was growing up. I come from a middle-class farming family in South Dakota, where hard work was a way of life, but professional careers in medicine or dentistry weren’t common. In fact, I was the first in my family to go to college, let alone earn a doctorate. There was no blueprint for the path I was about to take, but I’ve always been a firm believer that if I could envision it, I could make it happen.

After dental school and residency, stepping out on my own to start my first practice was a challenge. I had no business background, no family members in the industry to guide me—just determination and a willingness to figure it out. Opening my own office was thrilling, but also terrifying. The financial burden was significant, and the responsibility of running a business on top of patient care felt overwhelming at times. But I kept pushing forward, learning from experience, trusting my instincts, and embracing the challenges as they came.

One of the biggest ongoing challenges in dentistry is keeping up with the latest technology and advancements in treatment. Dentistry is constantly evolving, and staying at the forefront means investing in education, training, and new equipment—all while balancing the demands of running a practice. It takes time, money, and commitment, but it’s necessary to provide the best care for my patients.

Moving to California in 2005 was another leap of faith. Transitioning from the Midwest to the fast-paced, highly competitive world of Beverly Hills dentistry wasn’t easy, but I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge. I’ve built my practice from the ground up, faced setbacks, adapted to changes, and continued to push forward.

Looking back, I see how every challenge shaped me. The uncertainty, the risk, the long hours, and the constant learning—it all brought me to where I am today. Success didn’t come from having the perfect circumstances; it came from taking chances, working hard, and believing in my own vision.

My practice specializes in cosmetic and implant dentistry, with a strong focus on delivering beautiful, natural-looking results. What sets my office apart is that I provide comprehensive care under one roof—patients don’t have to see multiple specialists for their dental implant journey. From surgery to final restoration, I personally guide each patient every step of the way.

I specialize in cosmetic and implant dentistry, combining artistry with advanced dental technology to achieve optimal results. Early in my career, I dedicated countless hours to continuing education in cosmetic dentistry, refining my techniques to help patients achieve their ideal smile. Over time, implant dentistry became a passion of mine as well. By integrating my expertise in cosmetic dentistry with dental implant restorations, I ensure that my patients receive not only functional but also aesthetically superior results.

I am also one of the few female dental surgeons in the field who provides full-service implant dentistry, meaning I personally handle every step—from implant placement to final restoration—without sending patients to multiple offices.
