Meet Kendall Watson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Watson.

Kendall, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In every group of people, there is always that one person who takes the lead to make sure everything is taken care of. It may just be my southern roots, but I really enjoy being that person. While working in corporate America as a lead buyer and head of retail, I took on a side project managing a new artists’ career. One thing after another, it quickly grew into a complete brand… I was named “Manager Kendall” by my closest friends and am now directly managing both people and projects. It’s been a really fun business so far. It is definitely demanding having to be available pretty much 24/7, but the day to day stays interesting and ever-changing.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Choosing to tackle the entertainment industry freelance rather than with an agency was definitely a challenge, but proved to be worth every step. A lot of agencies are always open to contracting projects out and that was an integral way for me to make strategic partnerships across the field.

Please tell us about your work.
I am best known for my work within influencer and experiential marketing. While I manage my own roster of talent, the other half of my business has me hired directly by brands and organizations to build campaigns, events, and projects from the ground up. These projects can range from podcasts, merchandise lines, live event series, all the way up to tours and music festivals. I am currently working on my largest project to date and can’t wait to release more details. I am most proud of building what I have on my own; Hollywood and the entertainment industry can be a tough place but i’m very grateful to have built the network that I have.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
There are always things you wish you could change, but most of those are just smaller nuances along the way. There is no single moment that sticks out as something I would alter; the road I have taken could have been smoother but all of the negatives were learning experiences.
