Meet Kelsey Jones of Lavish Tan in Venice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Jones.

Kelsey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was diagnosed with basil cell skin cancer at the age of 19. I loved to be tan and spray tanned at every salon in LA. Everywhere I went I ended up looking orange. I decided to look up the ingredients in these spray tan solutions and discovered every spray tan solution brand was not organic and also contained either beta cerotine or beat extract. I had the idea of replacing those ingredients with a brown Sugar derived from apples. The same concept of allowing an apple to brown/oxidize when leaving it on the counter for a period of time. It worked after many trials and errors. And lavish tan solution was patented.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was a long journey. But we grew slow and steady. Without any help.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lavish Tan story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see many other “organic” spray tan brands popping up. But nobody has a theory to back their organic aspect.
