Meet Kelly Vaught of BeCore in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Vaught.

Kelly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was feeling uninspired in a career and wanted a change, but didn’t know where to look. My wife invited me to “throw it out to the universe.” I placed a generic sales/marketing resume on Craigslist and got a call from BeCore.

I started out doing basic research and offered ideas on growing the company portfolio, which only had one client (Red Bull Energy Drink) at the time. There were three of us working out of a garage in Hollywood generating under $1 million in revenue.

Has it been a smooth road?
Having no formal education (I was a high school drop out) and no background in Experiential Marketing or event production, I had to learn a lot on the fly.

Also, Experiential Marketing was sort of the outlier in marketing, so it was a struggle getting sufficient budgets to create meaningful engagements.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with BeCore – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We create compelling experiences that connect brands with their audiences in an authentic way that encourages the audience to share their real opinions and reviews. We are rooted in youth marketing but have evolved over the past 20 years to include most any audience by focusing on genuinely understanding groups.

I am proud of our integrity, our culture and our diverse group of talent. We are comprised of 70% female employees from ownership/management and beyond. Our people come from diverse backgrounds and circumstances and are generous with their commitment to providing excellent service.

We are small enough to be nimble and cost-effective, yet creative enough to garner the trust of some of the biggest brands in marketing, including Microsoft, Red Bull, Nike and more. We have helped been awarded seven world records with our projects.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me means being fulfilled in helping others, starting with my family & my community and always learning along the way.
