Meet Kelly Kimball of K2PR in Mar Vista

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Kimball.

Kelly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am president of K2PR and mother to three girls.

I grew up in Boston, MA. I left for Los Angeles, CA 22 years ago to live a creative life. I work with some of the most inspiring people in the world- actors, musicians, fine artists, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, policy makers- people who are shaping the future.

I am passionate about connecting people to brands and experiences they love.

I started K2PR 14 years ago after working as a PR executive for Turner Broadcasting and Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the things I am most proud of is that I get to pursue my dream of living a creative life and helping established and emerging tastemakers who are working to make our world a better place while being a hands on mother to my three girls: Josie (age 9), Charlotte (age 8) and Sylvie Grace (age 2).

It hasn’t come without sacrifice.

One of the most important lessons I have learned is to ask for help. None of this would be possible without the support of my partner Russ Buchholz (television executive and head of creative for ITV Studios America’s joint venture Circle of Confusion Television), our loving nanny and the incredible community of parents and friends in Mar Vista, who inspire me to be a better boss, a better mom and the best me I can be.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the K2PR story. Tell us more about the business.
K2PR is a collective of senior level PR pros, media executives and content creators who deliver an unparalleled level of trained expertise to the established and emerging tastemakers that we serve.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I begin and end every day with my favorite essential oils. I believe karaoke is one of the best stress relievers. My favorite ways to unwind include listening to and playing music, working out with my kids and with friends, putting on my ballet shoes and heading to Westside Ballet or putting on my tango shoes and finding a nearby Milonga.

I spend most of my time behind the camera, where I provide the necessary components and counsel to allow our clients to present their best work, but sometimes my job requires me to step outside of my comfort zone and in front of the lens. Thanks goes to an incredible team of people who came to my rescue:
Stylist Leslie Luehring Fields (www.TrunkClub.com/Leslie.Fields); Grooming Tula Tartaglia (https://www.styleseat.com/m/v/tula) & Ellie and Sass (https://www.ellieandsass.com/); Wellness Coach and Friend Christine Irwin (http://www.oilersociety.com/team/christine-irwin/) and Sabertooth Fitness (http://www.sabertoothfitness.com/)

Kelly is such a talent – she’s great at all things PR and has been an amazing mentor to me. But most importantly, she’s a fantastic person and mother.

A fantastic story about a well-deserved woman, whom I am not only proud of, I admire greatly. My company, Zooga Yoga has worked with K2PR and she has helped elevate my business. She is a friend, a business associate, and someone who I highly recommend. More power to women-owned business entrepreneurs!

Kelly is one of a kind. She’s a combo of amazingly dedicated friend, bad ass in the board room, marvelous mother, and beautiful inside and out. She does whatever it takes – and never compromises.

Kelly is an absolute gem. She covered a half dozen shows for a major TV studio while filling in for someone on maternity leave over a decade ago, and I still remember her enthusiasm, commitment and authenticity to this day. Love this piece!

Kelly was an incredible partner to me when we worked together on the PR for a major preschool series.
She’s a dream to work with, with a deep passion for what she does.
We fast became friends and it has been an absolute joy witnessing her family grow over the years.
She’s a true rock star in every possible way!
