Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelley Baker.
Kelley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was a brow artist of 4years and looking for ways to start my own product line because everything I used didn’t suit my needs. My mother offered her last 10k from her 401k savings to help and the rest is history! I opened up my own salon in 2011. My first product, the highlighter pencil nicknamed “the magic stick” took off and sold like hot cakes and later followed with powder and brushes! My small 200 sq. Foot salon was no longer equipped to handle the line of clients wanting a great shaping so we tore down a wall and expanded the shop and stylists! My list of celebrity clientele has grown and includes Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Zendaya!
My beautiful salon (my home away from home) continues to keep locals (and not so locals) beautifully fabulous and that makes me happy!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not. if it was easy, everyone would do it!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Kelley Baker Brows story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in Brows. We teach our clients how to fill them in and how to use KBB brow products properly. We are known for perfect arches and giving people a natural shape without using a stencil. All of our work is done free hand.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe it’s more about being positive and taking action rather than things happening because of ‘good luck’
As far as ‘bad luck’, I’d say my faults are trusting people and their intentions. I’ve learned to be more cautious and protective of the people I let in my circle.
