Meet Kayle Williams of Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayle Williams.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started Hair and Makeup at very young age of 14. I have always loved Art and I have always felt that this industry embodies my passion for Art. I went to Cosmetology school and I have been licensed for Hair and Makeup for over 15 years. I started my Journey in Arkansas- where I was born and raised and I wouldn’t change that for anything. I worked in a few different high-profile salons till I found my groove. I worked tons of fashion shows and with local television and radio. My T.V. work and Portfolio got me recognized by an International Haircare Company. My career then took me to Dallas, Tx. This was the first time I had made the big move all on my own (even though it was only 4.5 hours from where I was raised). I worked as an International Makeup Educator covering the United States and Canada. I had a great experience with this company and a great education. I continued to work behind the chair even with all these great opportunities. I singed with my first agency for Hair and Makeup in 2008(The Clutts Agency). I have had the pleasure to work with The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Jcpennys, Dillards, Pier1, American Airlines, The Container Store, CMT, MTV, Sports Illustrated and countless other companies and Fashion Shows. I started working for a model recruiting company as a lead Hair and Makeup Artist. I made some great contacts that lived in NYC. So, I decided for my professional growth I would make the move. NYC isn’t for everyone but if you can figure out, Its the most amazing place. I worked very hard to establish myself with Actor & Model Headshots and Lifestyle shoots. I worked with Amazing Actors from Broadway and some of the most beautiful Models. I also can’t leave out the amazing Photographers and Agencies. I rented a chair at a salon in the East Village (Ruby 6) . I enjoyed NYC but I felt like my heart wasn’t in love with the city. I have visted CA many times and I have always loved it. I made the move in October 2016 and I drove cross country to get here. I rent a Salon Suite in Studio City ,C a. I feel like when you are supposed to be somewhere you just know it. I feel like I should have been here a long time ago.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think struggles are just part of the growth of someone. I have experienced a few different aspects of Failure but I have learned that there is nothing wrong with failing. The problem is when you dont try and you never make that effort. I have no regrets and I have taken my struggles in stride. Its hard to be a Hairstylist/Makeup Artist and start over in a new city but I love the challenge and it keeps me motivated to be better and to work harder for what I want.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Kayle Williams – what should we know?
I pride myself in Customer Service. I always found Hairstylist to be creative and never listen to their clients. I am not that hairstylist. I love my clients and go out of my to make them comfortable and happy with the service they receive. I have always done Color/Balayage and Haircuts and Makeup. I wouldn’t say that I specialize in one thing over the other . I enjoy all of them and the different challenges they present.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My Mom has always been a driving force for me to be successful. I watched her growing up in a single household with 3 kids. I know how much she struggled to provide for all us and that drive has given me the strength and motivation to always go after my dreams. She is my biggest Fan and I wouldnt be where I am without her.
