Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Nasoff
Hi Katie , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My husband, Cory and I started our boutique orthodontic practice in Pasadena, CA in January of 2024. We met in undergrad at UC Berkeley, in Italian class actually. I (Katie) was a biology major, taking the pre-med classes while Cory was an NCAA All American water polo player. After college, I was telling him why I wanted to do orthodontics and he said “that sounds good, I think I want to do that too!” So while I went to dental school, Cory took the science classes and studied to apply to dental school. We both ended up at USC dental school and then went on to do residency in orthodontics at USC. We both became board certified and decided to open a practice in Pasadena, where Katie is from. We made sure to make our office feel like a home and not feel like a traditional dental office at all. We took time with the design details to make it feel warm and inviting and patients tell us they feel like they’re on vacation when they step foot in the front door. We pride ourselves on using the latest technology to make treatment more efficient for our patients. We utilize a 3D printer whenever possible and use an intraoral scanner rather than goopy impressions. We offer Invisalign, braces and Zoom teeth whitening and we treat kids, teens and adults!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
With any startup business there are a lot of balls to hold up to ensure things run smoothly. We have been lucky in that we’ve hired amazing people to work for our business. We’ve had some learning curves when it comes to billing insurance and perfecting our schedule but things are running great now!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are an orthodontic practice started by husband and wife board certified orthodontists. We specialize in moving teeth and went to extra training after dental school to do just that. We offer Invisalign and braces and also do Zoom in office teeth whitening. We have taken the time to create a welcoming, comfortable space with a coffee bar and TVs on the ceilings at the dental chairs. We are very into esthetics as well as function and ensure that our patients are treated to their best possible smile. As far as branding goes, we worked Test Monki to create a brand that fits our style of laid back, beachy comfortable vibes.
What’s next?
We look forward to growing in the community and working with more dentists to collaborate on patients. We want to partner with local organizations to organize toy drives and oral health events in the community.
