Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Rose.
Katherine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I never really set out to be a photographer, I have a bachelors degree in Sociology but the only thing I wanted to do when I graduated was travel. I bought my first camera in order to document my trips, after a few years of travel I found myself in California, broke. I credit my naiveté for a large part of my success, I thought, ‘I know how to take photos, I can shoot a wedding’ – and the rest, as they say, is history!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been somewhat of a smooth road but definitely at the expense of my social life for a good 4 years. Once I decided I was doing photography, I ate, slept and breathed photography. Fortunately, you can teach yourself almost everything you need to know on the internet, but without a guide it can be sometimes be a bit of a longer journey than it needs to be!

My company is Katherine Ann Rose Photography and I specialize in weddings and lifestyle portraits. I am known for classic, timeless imagery with a editorial twist. I think what sets me apart is creating quality images that will stand the test of time.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
YES! About 2 years after starting my photography career, I joined Max Wanger as an associate. Their was no one in the industry that I looked up to more and getting to be apart of the team provided such incredible opportunities to hone my craft and shoot top-level events!
