Meet Kasey Green of Solve the Kase in South LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kasey Green.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a young girl raised in Los Angeles, I’ve always had aspirations of working in Fashion. I was unsure of where to begin my career, but a situation occurred that gave me the push I needed. In June of 2019, on a random Wednesday, I was called into HR at my former job and was told that I was being let go. Feeling confused and somewhat hopeless, I wondered what I was going to do next. Shortly after, I was asked to assist my friend with revamping her wardrobe. She knew I had a natural sense of style and thought I would be best suited to help her. We went to the mall to look for new clothing items for her closet and she suggested that I become a stylist. I was hesitant, but because this thought had crossed my mind before, I decided to try it out. Later that day, I created Solve the Kase Wardrobe Consulting Services.

I first introduced my new business on Instagram and received an overwhelming amount of support. However, after finding that styling jobs are few and far between, I decided to introduce a closet organization service. One of my first clients was my Godsister, who had unique pieces from lesser known brands in her wardrobe. This inspired me to create my own custom sweatsuit in which I placed my current brand (Solve the Kase) on the front of the sweatshirt. I modeled the suit and posted it online and again received an overwhelming amount of support as well as clientele and customers. Now, about a year later, Solve the Kase has grown bigger than I imagined it would and I have God, my support system, and my customers to thank for that. My brand is known for customized loungewear/streetwear and I look forward to seeing it grow and transform into a household name in the future!

Created custom sweatsuit and posted online because I was proud of my work and again received an outpouring of love, support, and now much more clientele.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been pretty smooth for the most part. Most of my hiccups and pitfalls are internal. When running a business, you sometimes want to give up and not put as much effort in as you should because of fear. This has been my biggest struggle yet. However, my customers and support system keeps me going and make me want to go harder.

Solve the Kase – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business specializes in Streetwear and Loungewear. What sets me apart from others is that my suits are customizable and can be bleach dyed, tie-dyed or left plain. Customers can choose their own colors and can request their suits to be cropped, made to be off the shoulder, or cut into shorts. All of my work is done by hand and each suit comes out differently and is unique to the person wearing it. I also provide styling services for those who inquire. I am most proud of the feedback I receive from my customers. I have been told that the suits are comfortable, easy to wear and make a statement. The love I receive means the world to me!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success as happiness. I believe that achieving a level of happiness where nothing can steal your joy is the ultimate success story and having repeat customers isn’t half bad either LOL.
