Meet Karina Liz of Blooming Waters in Playa Del Rey and Westchester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karina Liz.

Karina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was introduced to the world of naturopathy and colonics at the age of 16, by my European mother, who believed in a more holistic approach to health and wellness.

Over the span of 3 months of being placed on an unprocessed low sugar meal plan and weekly colonics, I started to develop a surge of newfound energy and completely healed myself of a viral infection for which my ‘regular doctor’ had no solution. I had so much energy that I started to run every day for two hours and eventually started the track n’ field team at my school. I felt fantastic!

I kept improving my diet, getting colonics, and returning to drinking at least 32 ounces of water per day over the next decade of life. I realized the importance of energy balance to vitality and how important a clean colon and water is to our own digestive system.

My dream was to open a wellness clinic that would not only help those wanting natural treatments but also for those wanting to keep their current state of good health. The first modality that I added was colon hydrotherapy. Our human bodies are mostly composed of water so colonics not only help excrete unwanted waste but also to hydrate the colon.

More research is currently being released linking good colon health and balanced digestive bacteria to proper immune function, and its vital importance on the body as a whole. There is an increasing trend for colonics, proper nutrition and energy-based restorative modalities as preventative and healing approaches to health, vitality and anti-aging, and I am proud to be a gateway to this growing awareness.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road. Setting up a business on your own always has its challenges. I am grateful to have met some fantastic people that have helped me tremendously with their advice, time and knowledge, but I also met some that I had to sever ties with. Having money to invest in a new business is crucial and so I had to work several jobs, forgo a few vacations, and I definitely had some unexpected expenses along the way.

Blooming Waters – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I own a boutique wellness clinic that offers primarily hydrotherapy services but also an infra red sauna, nutritional counseling and retail. It has top-of-the-line modern FDA approved devices. I have been doing colonics on myself for over 20 years and have tried devices all over the world. I truly believe in the LIBBE open system.

Being a trained biochemist with a strong interest in plant based nutrition, I enjoy taking the time to listen to my clients and happily share any information that I may know. Meeting new faces and seeing familiar ones return gives me great joy, as well as hearing my clients tell me how much colonics have changed their lives.

Sessions are catered individually so I can remain in the room with you or leave you to your privacy and only be a bell ring away. There is a television screen with plenty of documentaries about nutrition or movies to choose from, or you may listen to relaxing music, or simply cleanse in silence. I keep my premises very clean and try to foster a warm welcoming environment where you feel comfortable.

My clinic is unique is that I take the time to explain to my clients the procedure, its importance, expectations and answer any questions or concerns they may have.

Appointments are one-on-one and allow ample time for you to experience a relaxing and healing session.

I am proud to be continually growing as a business, and for receiving fabulous feedback from happy clients.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Aside from the pride of setting up my own business from scratch, I was especially proud of a time I worked with a client who ended up being so happy after her session that we both cried tears of joy.

She had been terrified of surgery and its possible complications after her doctor’s prescribed laxatives failed to yield a result and she was facing the possibility of surgery to remove a painful obstruction. She found me online as a last resort prior to signing herself up for the OR. My client was so very grateful to have tried a colonic and saw how useful they were in removing matter.

The result was that my client felt 100% better and also decided to remove peanuts from her diet for a little while, as they were the culprit in this instance. I was very happy to have helped her through her first colonic session ever, and proud that my device worked, resulting in her avoiding expensive and potentially risky surgery.

Pricing:

  • $80 first colonic session
  • $70 return clients for colonics
  • $35 infra red sauna for 1 hour or $25 if you have a colonic at the same session
