Meet Karen Escobar of Golden Coast Marketing in San Gabriel Valley and DTLA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Escobar.

Karen, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had a passion for helping people reach their fullest potential. Through digital marketing, I’m able to help small businesses connect with more of their dream clients while expanding their reach and helping them make more money.

I got started in digital marketing in 2015 after completing my MBA. I noticed that there were so many amazing businesses that felt like they couldn’t compete with giants like Amazon, Walmart, etc. But through Facebook and Instagram ads, I’m able to help clients reach those die-hard fans that are looking for their products and want to contribute to their local economy. My clients understand that through the power of digital marketing, they can find their superfans and continue to create products they’re passionate about, for the exact individuals looking for them. They now understand that they don’t need to compete with big companies, they just need to be strategic about honing in on their ideal client.

I love that I get to work with creative, passionate, and innovative individuals. My clients are major contributors in their communities and are passionate about giving back. I love that by helping them grow, I know I’m also contributing to growing local communities.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Ha, definitely not a smooth road! Running a business has a lot of challenges and a lot of lessons that you’ll only learn once you’ve been through an experience. There were definitely some struggles with figuring out how to get up and running, how to find my own ideal clients, creating work/life balance so I don’t burn out.

But I love it. Being a small business owner has taught me just how strong I am and how much I can accomplish. I’ve also made some great entrepreneur friends along the way that have become my support system and help me push forward any time I start to doubt myself.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Golden Coast Marketing is a women-owned boutique digital marketing agency right here in Los Angeles. We specialize in Facebook and Instagram ads, email marketing and funnel strategy for online service providers and digital course creators.

We take great pride in helping owners scale their business to 10k, 20k and even 50k months by helping them promote their online services and digital course launches.

What sets us apart from other agencies are our proven strategies to ensure our clients are targeting their ideal consumers and creating a detailed road map to ensure that potential customers never fall through the cracks. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they can just run an ad and people will just buy and that’s simply not how it works. To create superfans, you need a solid strategy and that includes everything from who you’re targeting to how you’re interacting with them and when.

At GCM, we make sure to create a detailed plan to increase Return on Investment (ROI) for all of our clients. We don’t work with everyone. We work with entrepreneurs who are looking to change the world.

What were you like growing up?
I’ve been a bookworm since day 1. I love to read and I loved that books introduced me to so many different types of personalities. I love to be introspective and work to understand what makes people tick.

I think this is why marketing is such a great fit. Marketing is about connecting the right person to the right product via the right messaging. You have to have a deep understanding of both parties to create messaging that will speak to people’s hearts. Marketing is never sales-y if it’s coming from a place of truly understanding your client and wanting to provide a solution to a problem.
