Meet Karen Cormier of TEAM Referral Network

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Cormier.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m what they call a natural connector. I LOVE meeting new people and finding out who they are and what they’re about.

I joined TEAM Referral Network in 2009 as a member. I loved everything about it. I learned over time that there was an opportunity to make this into a business.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life is a journey and if it was always easy we’d never appreciate the wins.

As Entrepreneurs, by definition we live outside the box. We live outside the comfort zone. We choose to create the life we want AND we fall…Sometimes a lot! BUT…We pick ourselves up and figure something else out.

I’d say the struggles for me are when I see greatness in people and they haven’t yet seen it in themselves. I would also say my struggles come along with personal growth. Learning what works & what doesn’t.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
TEAM Referral Network was founded in 2002 by Kelli Holmes in La Verne.

We are a category protected networking group, which means that there is one person per category. We are based on the principals of relationship marketing. Once we know, like & trust someone, it leads to endless referrals. We meet weekly like any other top company to stay connected & top of mind.

I started as a member in 2009 and was President of a chapter of 20 + members. Shortly after that, I became a Regional Director. TEAM then became available for Franchise in 2012 and I became one of the founding Franchisees.

My Franchise includes Ventura County & Santa Clarita. I also manage chapters in the San Fernando Valley for the Corporate office from Burbank up to Calabasas & up the 405.

I’m passionate about starting new chapters and supporting the ones that exist. I love watching how the relationships grow as time goes on. These groups become family. I’d say I’m known for being a hard worker, supportive & someone that truly cares and is out making a difference.

I’m very proud of our Community Outreach program. Each chapter is gifted a membership to a local non-profit that helps women/children in the community. We help them with getting their organization support. Friend raising, fund raising, volunteering… The chapter basically adopts their cause.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe as important as the internet is, meeting face to face in one’s local area is really important in growing your business. Being part of a community networking group where 10,15 20+ people are getting to know you, your business & becoming your referral partner is a key part in someone’s marketing plan.
