Meet Kanika Brock of The Cardio Grind in Tarzana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kanika Brock.

Kanika, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a wife of a Major League Baseball Coach, Mother of two active boys, one a budding baseball player and the other a highly recruited Freshman Sprinter at the University of Southern California. I am the only female strength and conditioning specialist working with Major league athletes, and I am the owner of The Cardio Grind!

Mentored by Billy Blanks, when he closed his location, the mid and west valley people had nowhere to go for a Tae bo workout! Moved to help out, I opened just to workout with the few who wanted to stay in shape. The three people turned to 10 and now home to over 200 people. The Cardio Grind is home to the most sophisticated, daily evolving, fun and exciting Cardio, pump, boxing, and HIIT classes around. Each class comes with its own set of challenges and tasks. Each class builds upon the other to create the proper balance of Cardio/ weights for every member for lasting and quick Weightloss results. We offer nutritional plans and semi-private classes for those needing that extra accountability. The Cardio Grind is a second home to the powerful, sexy, the strong.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Every small business has a bumpy road. Small business lacks marketing power, visibility, and capital to compete with the larger gyms. The roughest challenge is finding the right supporting personnel that will teach, and have the same passion to serve. Another obstacle is learning when to stop working. Creating a plan and structure and sticking to it are many challenges that I have faced.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Cardio Grind – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in teaching clients to not take the magic pill or take the shortcut. I teach clients to transform their bodies with hard work and good nutrition through the medium of cross training. I use kickboxing, boxing, hot muscle pump, and a SAVAGE workout to obtain these goals! I’m Most proud that my gym is like a second home to people. It’s a place of no

I’m most proud that my gym is like a second home to people. It’s a place of no judgment, no criticisms, just desire to look good in their clothes and seeing it in the mirror naked. I’m known for transforming clients from outta shape to #nakedstrong!

I am the real deal. I’ve been in fitness for over 22 years, I workout hard and I can teach you, I’m over forty and fit, I’m an ex Pro track competitor, I’m an Exercise Physiologist who has the answer to the purpose of working out the right way, the safest way, the Cardio Grind way! I have guaranteed results that continues to
mount. I’m just getting started!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am implementing a new program designed to attract the cross training lovers who would like to throw up heavy weights without sacrifice and transform their bodies to the fittest version of their current selves. I call it a SAVAGE workout!
