Meet Kalum Vaughns of PolitiKan Broadcasting Network in The Inland Empire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalum Vaughns.

Kalum, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started a podcast in my apartment a little over three years ago. After podcasting for my first season, I realized the potential future of the industry. I then acquired my own production studio located in Downtown San Bernadino. While shopping for quotes for flooring, I was introduced into the world of journalism by chance. From that moment forward, I knew I had found my passion.

After acquiring my press credentials, I dove straight into the freelance world covering the B.E.T Weekend, Essance Fest, the XFL and more. The journey as a freelancer is very difficult to navigate being Black without a true mentor or educational background Roku Channel platform. This includes a 24/7 Livestream channel featuring podcasts, music videos, artist interviews and more. The platform its self is a Netflix styled Video On Demand Streaming Platform. We are currently accepting creators. How I got hear really is my faith in God. I walk in my purpose he will lead the way.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has been plenty of bumps in the road. Everyone you meet has an agenda. You just have to be strong enough to stick to your morals and conduct good business no matter what the circumstance. I am a man of my word. I stick to the principals the govern my life in every instance. Monetary struggles as a freelancer are a given. Thats why I still work a nine to five. Steve Harvey said something thats hit home with me. He said, “Let your job finance your dreams until your dreams can finance themselves.” So thats the plan.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about PolitiKan Broadcasting Network LLC – what should we know?
My company is PolitiKan Broadcasting Network. We are a Broadcasting company. We are most know for podcasting but are transitioning to a platform for creators.
