Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaiel Jackson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kaiel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Sadly, Steph (my wife) and I didn’t have a videographer at our wedding and unfortunately our photographer was not that greatest leaving us with maybe a handful of photos from the wedding day that we enjoyed (I have a list of photographers that are awesome if you need some suggestions). Granted I didn’t know it was a thing until early 2018 when I saw a need from a friend saying they didn’t have a videographer and only a photographer. So here comes Kaiel with an OLD Canon Rebel T3 and an iPhone 4…. 😀 … I hope you see where this is going. The footage was not so great… actually it was pretty bad, but it was such a fun process of making the film and documenting the day for my friends! After second shooting a couple of times and having a super supportive wife, I quit my day job with only one wedding on the books and went full-time November 21st, 2018. My creative style and unique editing and soundtrack selection have separated me into a fun, sexy, intimate market of couples that love to have an awesome time celebrating their love.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been smooth in all honesty! I’ve made great connections and work well with every planner and photographer I work with which in turn gets me so many great referrals. The only challenge I’ve really had was undervaluing myself, the countless hours of editing, and not being confident in raising prices. Once I raised my prices with a lot of encouragement from not just planners and photographers but even couples, I was getting more couples booking me that truly appreciated what I do and how I create.
Please tell us about Cali Viewfinders.
The thing that couples immediately notice about my work is the vibe of each video. They are all very modern, full of kissing, making out, fun couples that love to dance and be super intimate with each other. Almost all of my couples have personal vows which I HIGHLY encourage to help your film really stand out.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Swimming in the pool all day long during summer vacation with my Dad bumpin’ his big boombox with 90s hip hop & R&B.
Pricing:
- Ranging from $2750 – $4500 depending on hours, length of film
- Elopements start at $1750 but can go up to a normal large wedding with adding some awesome adventuring and full day shoots.
