Meet Kaelyn Sanchez of Kaelyn Rene Art in San Gabriel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaelyn Sanchez.

Kaelyn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was about 18 years old living in Orange County with my mom when I realized how serious I was about my art.

However, there was something getting in the way of that as time went. I was working in real estate based in Irvine, CA for almost three years (who would’ve guessed right) I was completely limited to my freedom, my creation and it made me lose a lot of insight to expand.

One day I woke up and told myself that I was going to quit knowing I had very little money saved up. I wasnt ready to make the move, but that’s what gave me every reason to do it (Crazy right??) The universe probably laughed at me because of how unrealistic it sounded, but I did it, I made the move! It took an extra 3 to 4 years until I actually started to see progress, I’m going to be honest I was getting a little nervous but I managed to keep working hard and giving it the best i could no matter how hard things got.

I’m 24 years old now based in Los Angeles Ca, and so far I’ve met many successful artist who have inspired me both spiritually and artistically, its amazing to know how many people out here were in the same position as me, if not more & took risks and opportunities to be a better person. It takes a lot of strength to overcome these mental breakdowns but because I stayed true to all that I am and invested all of my time into my craft, I truly believe the universe has gifted me something special and continues to do so for staying committed and making certain sacrifices to be where I am today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was definitely not a smooth path but because I was aware of this constant struggle, I’ve accepted it and pushed through as much as possible. Financially it was hard investing into myself to continue, but that didn’t stop me, as long as I sat there and did the work, to me that is rewarding in itself.

It would get to the point where I would only have $20 dollars in my pocket to last me a week. So id asks myself in those moments, Do I save this to eat for the week, or do I put it towards this product I need to create my painting?

Of course, I chose my craft. (Probably wasn’t the best idea) but thats where my heart was.

Somehow when I make sacrifices as such, the universe starts working its magic (literally). I’m suddenly making sales, I’m meeting new individuals who are interested in what I do, I get more clients in.

When I first started off I was selling pieces for $ 20 – $ 50 bucks. As time went it went up to $100 – $ 200. Then eventually it started hitting the thousands & thats when i started to realize the value of my work. It’s a little overwhelming but I can’t help but think somewhere out there, something is looking out for me. (Embrace those struggles people)

Please tell us more about your art.
I specialize in both Oil and Alcohol based mix media! I create both minimal and spiritual like paintings. I am known mostly for my Black and Gold fine Art pieces. Both Minimal and timeless.

I’ve always resonated with gold ever since I was young (younger), so I absolutely add it in both styles of paintings. It symbolizes both the Goddess of Art & the simplicity of self-love. It’s very bold that it moves people in a way that only speaks for itself. It isn’t meant to be explained but to be felt for they are not in me as the artist but in everything else, such as your experience within spiritually.

It is to remind you that self-love and beauty is eternal grace.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Honestly, if it wasn’t for both my clients and teammates, I wouldn’t have made it as far as I did! (They are the real mvps)

Dre Tamashi who is an ABSOLUTE CHARM and Music Artist is someone who has been with me since the beginning of my journey about five years ago. He’s invested so much into both me and my work and has shown me what it’s like be fully disciplined and committed. He always reminded me of my strengths that even I didn’t recognize. For that, I thank him for the rest of my days. I was able to find who I was as an artist.

Kim Rose who is a VERY successful Artist/Painter took me in as one of her students and has taught me so much about both business and leadership. Her positivity, love & skills inspired me to create more and to find my true meaning in the art world.

There is nothing more important than to have people who ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE IN YOU!!!
