I am the founder of Pacific Elite Nannies. I am from a small Northern California town, and now reside in Huntington Beach. I was a career nanny for over ten years with nanny experience all over the USA and Australia. I decided in my late 20s I was ready for another step and created Pacific Elite Nannies. Having experience as a nanny and moving to the business side of this industry has been nothing but challenging, yet rewarding. It’s been an amazing few years and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to continue to grow with my business as I learn new things each and every day. Pacific Elite Nannies is my baby. My goal is to make sure each of my nannies and families are 100 percent satisfied and stress-free.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Because I had over ten years’ experience as a nanny, I expected to be a know-it-all when it came to running my agency and boy, was I wrong! It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but having said that, I’m very grateful for everything I have learned along the way. There is so much that goes into an agency. Not just recruiting but really taking the time to know your clients and nannies because it takes a 100 percent perfect fit to make it work in a family home. Also, I’ve learned so much legal stuff along the way. Who knew nannies couldn’t be 1099’ed? I sure didn’t but now I do. It’s been all about educating all of my clients and nannies and definitely a learning process for me too.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
For me, it’s on a much more personal level because of what my business is. I would say being a good listener, honest and make sure I carefully screen each nanny and family. I play matchmaker. So, there’s a lot more that goes into it besides job qualifications.
