Meet Justin Magallanez of Creatin’ Monters in Irwindale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Magallanez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Justin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Through the vision of a child CREATIN’ MONSTERS has been a brand that has been involved in the community since 2002. My son at the age of five developed the name, logo and brand of what the company is now, that has allowed him to become owner of this company as well.

In 2007, after working for several corporate and highly recognized sports training facilities, my family and I had decided to open CREATIN’ MONSTERS in our two car garage. We started off with seven athletes ranging from youth to high school, to where my work was being recognized throughout the area and by word of mouth we were growing as larger family. For six years straight I developed a consistent program that was being highly recognizable as the garage boys and garage girls to where Professional athletes would travel across the country to train with me in garage and became more than a clientele coach relationship, it turned into a family relationship to where this athletes would bring their kids and significant other to come hang out or train.

After a tough decision, the house was being sold and from there we moved into Glendora CA. and Covina CA. Throughout the years where we were renting space. Every city I moved into I grew more and more and space was started to get limited. Finally in 2016, I took the chance and opened our first official building in San Dimas, CA. That was 2650 sq feet. Since then, I worked countless hours and days to make that grow even more to where now we’re across the country and all over the globe from China, France, Canada, Dubai, and Barcelona. Finally, after prayer and countless family advise we needed to grow and change location. Three months ago, we moved our facility into a 7000 sq foot facility in Irwindale, CA. I’m truly grateful for the area I’m in and most importantly I’m truly grateful for these athletes for sticking with me since the garage days and continue to be a part of our family for many years to come. I always tell the kids everyday, not bad for an OG Garage Guy.

Has it been a smooth road?
There has been many struggles throughout my whole career. 1st not sure what to expect on starting a business. I had no college background on marketing, business planning and management. Including time management. The whole process left my wife and I broke at one, to where At one point we only had $100 dollars left in our bank account and had to move into my mother’s house. Time was truly a blur at that moment not knowing how much each month would bring even when we moved into the San Dimas location and dealing with every city requirements and fees.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Creatin’ Monters – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Throughout the years, I’ve gained knowledge through many experiences working with NFL/MLB/NBA/AFL/AAFL/CFL organizations. Developing personal and team training for Professional, Collegiate and high school level, including professional UFC Fighters. In my years of training I’ve also played dual roles as a football position coach as well as an assistant strength coach at the professional, collegiate, and high school level. I have 17 years of experience, as well as a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and an achieving my Masters in Biomechanical engineering; with 17 certifications such as CSCS, and all levels of NASM certifications. Throughout my career, I’ve obtained achievements becoming a physiotherapist for the Jordan Brand, Master Instructor for Vertimax, and Power Plate.

Also, working with great companies becoming a sponsored coach with Marc Pro, Rapid Reboot, Cryotherapy, and Boost Oxygen. Over the course of my career, I personally have had the privilege to play football at the collegiate and professional level. This has provided me with the knowledge and experience which has allowed me to perfect my craft in my profession. What makes me so proud of my company is number of lives that have changed and the numerous amounts of accomplishments. Finally, the family-based environment that we’ve created since the garage. What makes us different is that I’ve made this company based off a child vision and that I try my very best to keep that value and continue to show my son that hard work and dedication anything is possible.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing about my city is how I am 6 min from three different freeway entrance and I’m closer to home. There’s no negative thoughts on my city. Just like any city, there’s always needs for improvements. But I am extremely blessed to be in this city
