Today we’d like to introduce you to Justice Marley.
Justice, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My love for creativity has always been strong, there was no limit for me, I’ve always enjoyed creating, whether it was cooking, writing or designing. Knowing that I could make other people happy just by doing something I enjoy is a delightful feeling. As a multi-creative person, I needed to decide where I felt the most passion in order to turn it into a business. I decided to attend FIDM, The Fashion Institute Of Design and Merchandising, where I learned and fell in love with multiple things such as graphic designing, sewing, and even the business side of things, at that moment the light bulbs went off and I decided that I wanted to start my brand. More Justice!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a nice ride so far, I’ve most definitely had and still have struggles but there’s a lesson in everything.
When I don’t have time to screenprint on my own I give the project to a shop but everything else is me. Web design, customer service, marketing, social media, right down to shipping, and handling, so you can imagine the struggles but I’m all here for them because I rather learn from the struggles than to have absolutely no idea how things should be done. As I learn I grow!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about More Justice – what should we know?
More Justice is a brand that brings you timeless streetwear while also giving your clothing a voice. We’re a brand that represents many people and things. As a company we’re proud to represent Justice, a global message, something that is needed everywhere and of course we are proud to be a Jamaican/Female owned brand.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Yes, there are definitely supporters and cheerleaders! My mother, Lorraine Bogle, she’s reminds me daily to keep going no matter the obstacle, Jamie D’arcangelo, a great friend who will literally gives me anything that she can to help my vision come to light. My brother, Daniel Marley, also another daily supporter, there is not a morning that passes where I don’t receive a check-in text message from him and of course anyone who has ever purchased More Justice. All of this keeps me going!
