Meet Julius Tanag of The Light & Glass in Rowland Heights

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julius Tanag.

Julius, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Photography was only a semi-serious hobby for me, up until college. I was going to school for illustration when I met a wedding photographer on campus and started designing albums for him. The pay wasn’t much but I was motivated to apply any of my skills. From there, I started shooting alongside him and it pretty much became an apprenticeship. I decided to try and find my own voice with wedding photography and now I’m here!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In no way has this been (or continues to be) a smooth road, but you have to hang in there and sacrifice to get to a good place. Also, I feel like a common trait with artists is never feeling satisfied with your work. So even if you feel like you’re in a good place, you’re always constantly challenging yourself to make better work.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in wedding and engagement photography. We treasure the memories that matter. And we want to capture couple’s unique and special love! One of the best parts about this gig is being able to work so close to clients that they practically become your friends. And that awesome relationship we create with them is what sets us apart from others.
