Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Julieta Moran and Dr. Ricardo Ramirez.
Dr. Moran and Dr. Ramirez, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2014, I discussed my idea with a friend, Ricardo Ramirez, M.D., who had also been looking for a creative and artistic way to express himself and use his skills. Soon we were taking courses in Aesthetic Medicine and reading all the material we could get our hands on. We enjoyed hosting “Botox Parties” where we performed cosmetic medicine procedures on our friends and families. As time went on, we began to do procedures on acquaintances and we realized we were ready to begin the next logical step of opening our own medical clinic. With the support of our families we began the exciting, and often times tedious, process of developing a business plan. Fortunately, our detailed planning resulted in rather quick financing. We quickly set to work on working on looking for a location, designing our clinic, and, all while continuing to learn about, and practice, aesthetic medicine. In spite of multiple construction set-back, which we found are part-and-parcel of opening a business, in March of 2017, we had our grand opening.
We are now 3 months into beginning our practice and have enjoyed every day of our work. Our client base is steadily growing and we are increasing the treatment regimens we provide which include: Botox, fillers, laser hair removal, HydraFacial, chemical peels, and IPL skin rejuvenation.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We both have families who have been very supportive and have had to pick up the slack while we were training, developing our idea and now during the infancy of our medical clinic. We have also continued to practice in our respective clinics.

SOMA Medical spa specializes in providing medical aesthetic treatments. We focus on enhancing one’s natural beauty! We do this with the goal of helping our clients feel more comfortable about their skin and help them improve their self-confidence. Our families are the reason we have been able to dedicate ourselves to something we love this much! Our spouses have been extremely supportive and our biggest cheerleaders! They have definitely picked up the slack at home during crunch time, especially immediately prior to the grand opening.
