Today we’d like to introduce you to Julana Dizon.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began modeling at the age of 22 in Florida and quickly started booking jobs for commercials, ecomm, print, and fashion shows. After working in Florida for three years, I signed a modeling contract in Cape Town, South Africa and spent a season working there before finally moving to LA to continue my career! Now I’ve expanded into fitness modeling as well as TV hosting, in addition to print modeling and commercials.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is never smooth, but the most important thing is to never give up! For every job I booked, there are 20 jobs I DIDN’T book! You just have to keep going and never stop to look back or dwell on the ones you missed. Some of my biggest struggles included the move to LA and adjusting to the fast-paced culture here, and also realizing the importance of knowing your strengths and using them to your benefit.

I am a well-rounded model that specializes in fitness and lifestyle modeling. I’m known best for my happy and fun approach to photo shoots. I enjoy shooting outside on location and working for brands that allow me to have fun with the camera, smile, laugh, and be happy!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My work ethic is the number one reason for my success. I never give up hope, and I always do my best to go to every audition, casting, self-tape, etc. that I am lucky enough to receive. I make it a priority to regularly keep in touch with my agents and update my photos as needed, and I always remind myself to stay grateful for every opportunity and every job!
