

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Gonzalez.
Hi Juan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We grew up in Highland Park, attended and graduated from the neighborhood schools. Our older brother Rafael had a great menu idea and our younger brother Martin wanted to help out financially. At the time due to the pandemic some of us were unemployed and struggling to find work so mom, dad and myself helped bring that idea to reality. We all had great restaurant experience and contributed that experience into starting our family restaurant.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. The struggles of the pandemic, inflation and running on a small budget have not made it any easier either. But through struggles comes appreciation and growth and we hope to continue to grow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We offer a variety of Mexican and Mediterranean plates, specializing in tacos and kabobs (hence the name). We are known for our delicious flavors and great customer service.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters more to us is to be able to continue to provide quality food and service to our community. It is an honor to be able to serve the community that helped raise us and made us the people we are today.
