Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Fitzgerald.
Hi Josh, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
well my sons have been playing hockey sense they were 8 and 10 now they are 19 and 21. my son played for the team we purchased his first yr in junior hockey (long beach shredders). my son left to play in New Jersey but with being born and raised I continued to sponsor and support the team. The ownership struggled the next couple yrs and just was in trouble. This was not in my wheelhouse to own a team but it just happened lol. We have taken over rebranded and brought back the past with the Long Beach Bombers USPHL Premier hockey team. we have greatly improved the teams horrible record and gave an awesome new look to the team. we will be heading into our second yr as the Long Beach Bombers and working hard to get involved in more community events with the players and get more sponsorships and donations from our local businesses and corporations as we are now a non-for profit. the future is bright for the Long Beach Bombers especially with the support of our fans and community. we will be getting our season schedule in july-august and will be posted on our website longbeachbombers.com
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
as taking over from a team that was getting beat by huge margins, recruiting was difficult. We were able to secure some great local players as well as players from Canada, Russia Quebec and others from our great states

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the city of Long Beach. We have such a great diverse community and are proud of it. Not sure to be honest every city has there issues
