Today we’d like to introduce you to Joni Myllari and Barry Rosenblum.
Green Tea Studios opened back in 2015. Founder, Joni Green Tea, envisioned a studio that would bring convenience and affordability for up and coming artists.
Joni and business partner/studio manager Barry Rosenblum met shortly after Barry moved to Los Angeles in 2017. After dozens of experiences at other studios, Joni and Barry applied their studio knowledge to build a studio intended to provide zen and a clean aesthetic for artists to have an equally clean mindset while creating their art.
After spending a year building up the aesthetic at their location in the Pico area, they moved to 1950 Cotner Ave, Los Angeles CA 90025 in order have a location that is central and convenient for artists to get to from Marina Del Rey, Downtown, Santa Monica, Venice, Mid City, and the Valley.
Green Tea Studios also hosts an IG Live show in which they review the music of artists in LA and across the country. Green Tea plans to continue growing the community as a place for artists to connect, network, and grow.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
All businesses come with struggles. At first, we were figuring out a way to be consistently booked.
After a while, the artists we worked with began to fall in love with the way Joni genuinely cares for each and every record that is created in Green Tea Studios.
Not only are artists coming back, they are recording, mixing and mastering their records and even albums with Joni.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Green Tea Studios – what should we know?
We are a recording studio. We specialize in helping artists create their best records by providing an aesthetic and psychologically clean recording space along with an expert engineer.
What we are most proud of as a company is our consistency and hustle. This is also what sets us apart from other recording studios: Our customer service and high level of communication is something that most artists tell us they have yet to experience at any other studio.
From a smooth and personal booking process to receiving your final files in a timely manner, Green Tea ensures artists that the music industry is not as flimsy as people say. We are all about providing peace of mind for each of our artists.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Our success goes out to anyone in the music industry that we have studied. There are greats that have come before us, and we make sure to study and analyze their moves.
A special shoutout goes to Marc Solomon, who mentored Barry on how to run a business through strong communication and valuing high-end customer service.
Other players that have contributed to the growth of the studio are our other in house engineers, Randy Brown (aka Sounds Like Hoot), and Harry Samuels (aka HU$TLA).
Our assistant booking manager Kevin Finn has played a role of helping us with branding as well as finding incredible talent across LA.
Sariel (@photosbysariel) has played a role in adding an incredible deliverable: Photography. She has worked with artists such as Don Toliver, Big Sean, Jack Harlow, Brent Faiyaz, and more.
Super producer Milian Beatz also spends a good amount of time recording artists signed to Def Jam, Interscope, and Dream Chasers at Green Tea Studios as well.
