Meet Jonathan W. Fields of Dark Gable Productions Unlimited in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan W. Fields. Him and his team share his story with us below.

Please kick things off for us – where does this story begin?
This East Coast-born Motivational Speaker, Program Director, Writer, Actor, Poet, Addictions & HIV Counselor spent the first 18 years of his life raised by great parents on the West Side of the Bronx, New York. While attending Catholic school (1968-1974) he was exposed to traveling, music, sports, drama, art, and modeling.

He was third team all-city in Basketball, voted student representative, and received several Art scholarships offer’s while a sophomore at Sacred Heart High School, Yonkers NY.

In 1975 he left New York to attend Benedict College and the University of South Carolina in Columbia SC. Lettering in Football & Basketball respectively. It was there his interest in writing, began to take shape (writing articles for the school newspaper on sports, entertainment, and politics).

After college and a brief stint with the Seattle Seahawks, he joined the Navy in 1980. It was in San Diego, CA while working as a Navy Operating Room Technician, he began to write poetry. He eventually became a Naval Aviation Medicine Specialist Westpac.

Meaning he was attached to Marine Corp Squadrons traveling Exclusively between Iwakuni Japan, Okinawa, Hawaii, Guam, Manila, and Korea.

After his discharge from active duty in 1991, he returned to school (North Carolina Central University) to pursue a Degree in Pre-Law, while working as a Correctional Officer in Raleigh, NC. In 1996 he relocated to Washington DC and became a Certified Addiction Counselor. That same year he worked at Lorton Correctional Facility as a Case Manager. In 1998 he was named Assistant Director of the Women’s Safe House (A residential program for mothers in recovery with children).

In 2000 he became the Coordinator of Taylor Manors Adolescents Drug Treatment Program in Ellicott City, MD. In 2001 he also renewed his passion for writing, by publishing his first book of poetry “Shades of Ebony-Epigrams of my life.” In 2002 he received his Master’s in Criminal Justice-specializing in Juvenile Services. He later became the Program Director for Vanguard Services, Phoenix Program in Arlington VA. In 2008 he became the Director of The RSAT (Residential Substance Abuse Treatment) program at the Baltimore County Detention Center, in Towson, MD.

In 2009 he decided to pursue his writing and entrepreneurial aspirations full time, eventually relocating to Phoenix Arizona and creating his “Believe & Achieve Foundation” and the “Black Felt Pen, Inc..” In 2010 he officially became the CEO/Founder of the Believe & Achieve Foundation, Inc. after registering it in Los Angeles, CA as a 501 3(c).

In January 2011, he launched his first Fashion, Entertainment, and Comedy & Community Magazine called Ambiance Magazine-Upscale. In March 2011, he began his Fifty & Fly Campaign to address Health and Wellness after the age of 50. For Jonathan, this touches home as he is a SURVIVOR of a near-fatal blood clot & staph infection called Mrsa in 2006 (Jonathan has since provided testimony to the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle and thinking).

The Fifty & Fly movement is his flagship example of reinventing oneself through FITNESS, FASHION, IMAGINATION, SPIRITUALITY, CREATIVITY, COURAGE, and SWAGGER!

In May 2015, Jonathan launched his Dark Gable Productions Unlimited Brand. This is the aggregate of his Promotional, Social Media and Red Carpet Service Expertise, he’s gleaned and developed during his Ambiance Magazine Hollywood/Beverly Hills stint. His Rip-The-Runway Red Carpet approach has been a game changer in the world of Fashion & Entertainment launches!

In June 2015, he began Managing/Consulting “The Real Nail Qweenz International “and Plus Size Model Sensation “Just so Jazzy” Johnson, “The Gable Girlz” and a Rap Group from the Dirty South, “Carolina Henchmen.”

In June 2016 Jonathan suffered his most devastating setback to date – the death of his mother, Nellie Mae Fields. Because he’s an only son, Jonathan needed to take a sabbatical from his West Coast business and return to Wilmington NC. (To assist with the transitional & grieving process needed for him and his family). In 2017 Jonathan officially relocated to Mesa, Arizona to reestablish his company and prelaunch his magazine. One of the first projects slated for summer 2018 is his X’TREME NAILZ UNLIMITED MAGAZINE…

Being an advocate for unique and unsung women’s movements is nothing new to Jonathan. He’s been a lifelong supporter for those in need of bipartisan support starting with the Gay/Lesbian movement of the 80’s, Plus Size Modeling trend of the 2000’s and today Beautiful Women with Extreme Nails. It’s a hot new personal and fashion statement soon to catch on with the mainstream fashion industry.

There are so many amazing stories and testimonies behind these long nail divas. He has been wanting to do this project for some 20 years now, so he’s not trying to exploit these ladies or jump on some fetish bandwagon (this is truly a labor of love for him).

His vision officially launched with FLY FASHION NAILS on Facebook back in 2009. That immediately turned into an interactive blog site. He also had FLY NAILS on YouTube, and it eventually grew to 20.000 hits. That’s when he knew there was an interest in these amazing women. In 2014, his FB page was changed to INTERNATIONALLY FLY FASHION NAILS to acknowledge and showcase those women from other countries who followed his sites regularly.

Because of the demand and acceptance of this movement, he feels the time was right for a unique project & platform to allow these women to DARE TO BE DIFFERENT. They have also hired one of the stars of the reality show “Diva GlamMas,” MS Ronda Shontel Robinson to be the Spokesperson and face of their project.

Therefore they are now setting a release and launch date for X’TREME NAILZ UNLIMITED to be released in Beverly Hills. Jonathan is the proud father of four children; Jonathan William Fields III, Jordan Isaiah Reyes, William Rashad Fields, and Jaelynn De’challon Fields.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With most small business Marketing, Funding and Timing are the most difficult thing. Plus when you have children (that are on the opposite coast that you’re on), it can be difficult.

Lastly having to deal with death in the family is also a challenge. I’ve lost my Father, Mother and several first cousins (as well as close friends during the last 8 1/2 years).

Dark Gable Productions Unlimited – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
“Dark Gable Productions Unlimited” is a full-service Red Carpet & Production Company. Comprised of all the elements that made “Ambiance Magazine Uncut” so amazing.

By merging the elements of Entertainment, Fashion, Media, Comedy, and Production into a live touring bipartisan gala. We can present the maximum “Ripping the Runway” effect. Under the guidance of real fidelity, we decided to do what the other so-called Entertainment Capitalists/Brokers won’t; SELFLESS COLLABORATION. By uniting with the best of the best, in the world of Comedy, Fashion, Music, Art and Production, we have created the Ultimate package of Pure Entertainment and Sacrifice.

No Ego’s! No Games! No Hollywood Scams! Just Unbridled Raw Talent and a desire to provide great service to those that need it most… and can least afford it. The economic landscape today means 50-60 percent of the Americans can’t fly to ATLANTA, NEW YORK, LAS VEGAS, and MIAMI, OR LOS ANGELES.

But they would love to see a Las Vegas Like show with a colorful Brazilian flavor. They deserve to experience a Live West or East Coast “Rip-The-Runway” gala complete with the Hottest Models, Fierce Fashions and never-before-seen Talent. How about those SINGERS, SONGWRITERS, DANCERS, AND POETS that are both up and coming and/or unsung that may never get the opportunity to get on “THE VOICE,” AMERICA’S GOT TALENT,” or “AMERICAN IDOL.”

We want to represent those people in reaching for the stars. “Dark Gable Productions Unlimited” was created for those “WHO DARE TO BE DIFFERENT.” Let “Dark Gable Production Unlimited” put you a cut above the competition.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
There are many but these highlights the best ones… going live stream and radio podcasting in this year. We also have a deal on the table with a very prominent cosmetics and nail polish line for an X’treme Nailz Fashion Show Gala in Las Vegas 2019.

Plus, we’re going to have our very own Extreme Nails Unlimited spokesperson, Ronda Shontel Robinson doing seminars, speaking engagements and autograph signings (She has a non-profit that deals with battered/abused women issues, and etiquette training for young girls).

Our next magazine will be entitled X’treme Nailz International and will feature in-depth storylines about those women who express themselves through their nails. Were also heavily into doing our own autobiographical story about making it in the world of entertainment… from scratch! Plus many, many more projects.
