Meet Jonathan Tao of CNCPTS Made in Central Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Tao.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jonathan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After graduating college and like many others, I went into the corporate world ready to put my education to work. I’ve had a couple of roles within the finance industry and currently at a private equity/commercial real estate investment firm out of Los Angeles. I enjoy what I do on a daily basis; however as you can imagine, the finance industry is generally more traditional. You don’t get many opportunities to exercise the creative side of your brain. For me, I’ve always been passionate about pursuing more and maximizing productivity so no time is wasted. I’ve worked on several side projects in the past and my most current business is a company called CNCPTS Made. We make a premium weekly planner and notebook designed specifically for business and entrepreneurs. Whether it’s a side hustle, passion project or full-time business, our weekly planner is designed to help you and your business stay organized and moving forward. Ultimately, the idea came after failing to find a product that worked for my own needs. Coincidentally, I was co-running a mastermind for entrepreneurs and business owners in Los Angeles at the time. I bridged the two projectstogether and tested iterations of the planner with this group to ensure it would be a product that worked. CNCPTS Made has been open for just over a year and things are moving along. We sold out of version 1 and now on version 2.0. We’ve received a ton of positive feedback from customers and are excited to keep things going.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. One of the biggest challenges when working at a day job is time management. I have to be very intentional about my time commitments and prioritize my weeks so I don’t burn out. Striking that balance was definitely a struggle for me. The other aspect to this was understanding and accepting your limitations. You quickly realize you can’t do everything yourself. I’ve learned to delegate, outsource and even challenge myself by asking whether or not a certain task is worth pursuing.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with CNCPTS Made – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud and what sets you apart from others.
Thanks! I am most proud of the impact our product has been making in the lives of others. The feedback has been incredible and extremely rewarding to hear how our weekly planner has helped others grow their businesses. I believe what sets us apart from others is our mission. Our goal from day one is to empower others to pursue more. Whatever that is, we want to help get you there. We invest a lot of resources and time to ensure our product and content is in line with our mission. I think our customers really appreciate this and are able to see that we’re not here trying to make a quick buck, but are genuinely interested to see them succeed.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
That’s a tough one. I would have to say being able to take my idea from concept to reality and having actual paying customers is definitely one of them. Thankfully my initial customers were patient and forgiving with me along the way!
