Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Schwartz.
Jonathan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My passion for laser cutters started when I began working in the product research and development field. I’ve always enjoyed making things and the access to high tech tools allowed me to learn the basics of laser cutting. I soon purchased my first laser cutter and almost completely disassembled it and reassembled it in order to learn more about the machinery itself. I really enjoyed the creative freedom that the laser cutter allowed me and it wasn’t long until I started my own laser cutting business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a pretty smooth ride from the beginning. There were definitely a few bumps early on but nothing too serious. The biggest issue is trying to run everything with a small staff.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with American Laser Cutter – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
At American Laser Cutter, we do all things laser cutting, in fact we are the only company in the country the combines laser cutter and laser etching sales, service, instruction, manufacturing, and installation. For those just wishing to make a single project, we can help you bring your project to life from file creation all the way to product manufacturing. If you’re looking for a little bit more and need a machine for your own business, we can help you there as well.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
When I first started, I did a lot more things such as 3-D printing entered additional research and development. After spending the last couple years exclusively focusing on laser cutting, I’m ready to start getting back into full-scale prototyping and research and development. I would also like to increase public access to these amazing tools and offer classes out of my workshop.
