Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Puckett.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I want to say late 2018 around July I just started writing poetry, didn’t really think about do music it was morally for venting and getting whatever was bothering me at the time off my chest. I showed a few friend and family some of the stuff I wrote, and they all agreed I should at least try and record something. Come September I recorded my first song called “get it right” and I loved it, just the feeling off throwing my thoughts and emotion on a beat and hearing it was so overwhelming but yet exciting and more. Fast forward to 2019 I dropped my first EP “Life In a Preview” where I just talk about something’s going on in my life and around me nothing too personal as of right now, I’m still working something out in life but I will soon talk about it further more down the line.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been pretty smooth so far, but the only thing I struggle with the most not just music but in life is being in my head too much. Still trying to find ways not to be in my own ways as much but I just breath and take a break with whatever I’m doing at the time so that I can loosen up bit. Even when I’m writing especially I try not to be so hard on myself because I get super frustrated but if I get to flustered I’ll just come back to it later.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m an artist/rapper, I can proudly say that I’ve grown in music within the year span of me doing it. Most definitely I’m glad that I haven’t lost interest in it, I grow tired of things rather quickly so I’m very impressed with that. The only thing I can say that sets me apart from the rest is just being myself, I aim to be the best version of me no matter what I am doing at the time.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
So far just seeing people love and understand my music, it really fills me with joy when someone says they can relate and that I helped them with what they are going thru.
